Lightning fast, Well built, Competitively Priced - What's not to like!
I've had the TWP5 now for a few weeks so I think it's about time to give it a proper review. First things first, I'm a serial TicWatch owner, I have (and to some extent still use) an: S2, a Pro 2020, a TWP3 Ultra and now the TWP5. You could say that makes me a bit bias, but it also places me in a good position to review their latest offering. Now, this thing is a cracking piece of kit, it's fast (like Smartphone speed of responsiveness), it's stylish, it's solid and it's got some ridiculous battery life. All that whilst still being very competitively priced. I've regularly got 3 days battery life out of it, that's with all the sensors running 24/7 and also running Sleep as Android every night. It's step count seems to be accurate when compared to my other devices and my phone. The haptic feedback seems to have been improved over previous incarnations. It runs WearOS 3 without any struggles and syncs regularly to my phone. (I can't say I miss Google Assistant, I didn't use it that much anyway but that's not a TicWatch decision, Google took that out of everyone's hands) I've been using the same tempered glass screen protectors from my TWP3 Ultra as (despite what the specs look like online) they have the same sized screen. The only slightly sad thing is that the watch band size has changed from 22mm to 24mm meaning that all my previous 3rd party bands aren't compatible, but I found a decent one on Amazon (see photos) which is holding up really nicely. My only slight niggle is that you have to use a new Mobvoi App which doesn't have previous data from my other devices in it. However, I've been in touch with Mobvoi support and they've offered to sync it all over for me as part of the upgrade for the TWP3 Ultra (whenever that happens). Overall, a really impressive piece of kit, I haven't used it for any fitness tracking yet because I prefer to use my older (read: "far less expensive to replace") devices for that, but I can't fault it.

Feature rich, extremely tough and durable
I purchased this watch three weeks ago and have wore it daily, however held off doing a review until I returned from a water based holiday where I was able to put the pro 5 through a thorough durability test. The battery. I charged the watch the evening before leaving and with the watch in essential mode at night time, I had my notifications delivered whilst in range of my phone during the day and still enough battery remaining at the end of the week. It has fast charging, so like most high end smart phones you able to put a really good charge into it in a very short space of time - a nice touch. Appearance. It comes with a black strap and I was able to totally change its appearance, going from active to dress with the purchase of an additional 24mm quick release strap (shown in photo) and setting a new watch face from a long list of attractive designs. In essential mode, you can choose which background colour you want to display, allowing the user a high degree of personalization. Durability. The watch was exposed to a combination of salt and fresh water throughout the week, with no I'll effects, and unlike other smart watches didn't feel heavy on the wrist and it was very inconspicuous. It has taken a few falls from bedside cabinets onto hard floor surfaces - no scratches or dings or broken screens, so it's more than capable for anything life can throw at it....or you. Features. With Google pay linked, I didn't need to carry any cards with me. So it was one less thing to remember to take. Bluetooth automatically linked to my phone when in range, so no messing about with re-pairing. Scrolling through the menu and the apps has been made extremely easy via simply turning the crown on the watch. The crown can also be pressed when wanting to make a selection. The crown doesn't protrude that far out, presumably to stop accidently being pressed with extreme hand movements. The screen response is slick and quick with no lags or delays from interaction to delivery. Tic excercise has a host of workout activities you can track against. There is something for everyone, unless your an astronaut and want to track space walking. The heart rate monitor can be set to always on and depending on which watch face you set, it can be in a very prominent position. One Tap Measurement checks your Blood Oxygen , Heart Rate, Respitory rate and Stress levels simultaneously so you can keep an eye on your heart health. Amazing from something so small sitting on your wrist. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase It's a great piece of kit that has been made to last. I would recommend the Pro 5 to anyone, whether it's for a first time smart watch purchase or for the smartwatch aficionado.

Don't be tempted!!
This watch looks good, but don't be fooled. I bought this watch back in February 2024 and got it on a deal, so was well under £200. When it arrived it looked and felt like a decent bit of kit. Setting it up was a bit fiddly with the factory settings, but eventually got it paired I used it mainly for swimming and cycling and it gave a multitude of stats including heart rate during my swim. Battery life was decent and I was charging it every other day. After 6 months it started switching off and running out of battery within hours and wouldn't restart. After charging it for 12 hours it came back to life, but took around 5 minutes to start then wouldn't pair with my phone I tried reinstalling and resetting, but nothing worked I made a claim through the Mobvoi website, which wasn't great. They came back to me in a few days and immediately provided reasons why they would not honour the warranty, with the final excuse being that i had not purchased through an official Mobvoi retailler and advised that I should go back to Amazon In fairness to Amazon, they refunded me in full, including the accidental damage insurance.

Powerful, Reliable Beast as a Smart Wrist Watch
It takes bit of time to compare two products of the same company old vs new. I have been the user of TicWatch Pro 3 GPS for two and half years. It really did good in terms of fulfilling its purpose of being a reliable smart watch. It was about time when I thought to revisit the market and find something better as battery of TicWatch Pro 3 GPS started bothering me a bit though the watch is still in great condition. In brand space with medium to high price range, Apple and Samsung leads the way. Being technology enthusiast, I took time and did my research of comparing of two brands Vs TicWatch Pro 5 before I decide to buy. After week+ of online research checking reliability, response time of watch apps, battery life and scalability. I found the some pleasantly surprising detail of TicWatch Pro 5: • 1.43-inch AMOLED+FSTN dual layer display of The Ticwatch Pro 5 offers a circular touchscreen AMOLED face with impressive crispness, but it has more up to its sleeve in the form of a dual-layer display like my Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS. Ticwatch Pro 3 offered the same, and it essentially switches to a second display layer when the first is not in use. • The Global positioning services (with GLONASS, Beidou and Galileo providing the same excellent worldwide connectivity as some of the best Garmin watches) more than capable of tracking location with pinpoint accuracy. • Its rotating crown is a blessing for navigating lengthy lists of menu options or notifications and offers a subtle vibration when in use. It’s a small touch, but it’s appreciated. • The claimed battery life of 80 hrs After all the research, I purchased this watch from Amazon as price dropped during the time, I was comparing it with Samsung new launch of galaxy 6 watch. After purchase and weeklong use, I found the following: • It’s easy to get started on the watch, with a rapid pairing process that felt so quick I felt sure something wasn’t configured properly. Post its pairing and system update, It took some time for me to unfold watch better side and every unfolding progressively increased my happiness of buying this watch. • During my Gym time with the Ticwatch Pro 5, I tested it with a variety of weight workouts and some running and cycling for cardio. Whatever your level of fitness or interest in getting fitter, the Ticwatch Pro 5 writes its data into the Mobvoi Health app. Watch one tap measurement also is exciting which gives you quick info about heart rate, blood oxygen and other things. Added to this, Mobvoi app though not most exciting app to look at, but it certainly tracks enough metrics for pro users to learn about their body’s rhythms. Activity is measured in Active Hours, minutes of structured exercise, and steps. • Because I have mild sleep apnoea, for me measuring sleep quality sounds like great tool. TicWatch Pro 5 offered me with different coloured sections indicating light sleep, deep sleep, REM and time awake. It also provides this information as a bar chart, with a timeline of heart rate while I slept. It’s all standard stuff, but comprehensively - if unexcitingly - laid out for you. The Snapdragon W5+ chip keeps switching between apps and menus snappy, and installing fresh ones is as easy as you’d expect on Wear OS, too. The Ticwatch Pro 5 pulls data from sensors including, but not limited to, heart rate, skin temperature, Sp02, and GPS. Watch has got great processing ability, 32 GB storage and 2GB RAM, which will support scalability as technology keeps evolving. The 628mAh battery inside the Ticwatch Pro 5 with active screen on lasted for 40+ hours. It means, with dual layer mode on it can easily live up to 72+ hours. Overall, I am loving this watch. The only downside is watch strap and Wear OS version 11, I hope to see some improvement on it.

Great on paper but not in practice
The hardware looks great on paper, and for a few days I was really happy with my purchase, especially as it was on offer at £99.99. However, over the course of the next week or so a few glaring issues came to light which ultimately led to me return it. This is based on pairing it to an android phone on Android 15: -The Mobvoi Health app is incredibly unstable. For the last couple of days it would not sync my health data/tracking despite trying every possible troubleshooting measure. This included a hard reset (losing all settings and installed music), reinstalling the app, clearing the data and cache, restarting both devices and 'forgetting' the bluetooth connection. You name it, I tried it. Other aspects of the connection were working though (eg notifications, changing settings). I came to the conclusion that this is a Mobvoi server-side issue. Looking at forums reveals it happens regularly. This was the final straw as I don't want to be beholden to an unreliable app that I cannot troubleshoot myself. -The heart rate monitor and V02 max measures are way off. Comparing it to my Garmin watch HR is about 10-20% off when exercising. The HR also jumps around wildly almost as if it is guesstimating for a while and then measuring, then guesstimating again, and the timings of changes bear no relation to the exercise intensity or any pattern I have seen before when exercising with a decent tracking device. On the plus side there are some touches of brilliance. The change in backlight colour to reflect HR zone is fantastic and the ability to cycle through exercise metrics without coming out of the always-on-display is a great idea. If you are buying it as a bog standard smartwatch for music, Google pay and notifications it's really good, but don't go near it for anything related to fitness or expecting a decent app experience. Something tells me support for this watch will be dropped like a stone, hence the new latest price of £89.99.

A backwards step in terms of software interfacing
Having decided moving on from the Sony Smartwatch to the Ticwatch Pro to the Ticwatch 5, I was hoping for a continuous improvement. Unfortunately, not in all areas. The watch is fine, it's quite responsive and battery life is an improvement from the Pro. However, what is a massive backwards step is the interfacing and cooperation with your standard Android/Google software and account. Google Fit, a good enough place to store your fitness/health tracking data in which you should keep from phone to phone, watch to watch, use it if you don't have your watch or need to add in health data after the event. Sony Smartwatch excellent, just native updating of data. Google fit information was always uploaded and viewable in the Google Fit data. Ticwatch Pro, not great, it stored in the "Mobvoi" app and synchronised and fed it back into your Google account, not always reliable, but mostly it worked, heart beat was less reliable in upload but generally it synchronised with Google Fit. Ticwatch 5, terrible. Requires another new app "Mobvoi Health". Despite the synchronise option, it does not upload at all to your Google account so becomes a completely separate set of data. Does not seem to send any data at all to the Google Fit account, which is not useful. Even worse, despite me still having Wear OS compatible devices, if you now even dare to open the "Wear OS" app, Mobvoi causes it to get into a crash loop. I've spoken to Mobvoi and they said something about a conflict and you need to uninstall Wear OS!!! - Really!?! So unfortunately, the Ticwatch now does not play nicely with Android, it's trying to hive off a corner of your phone to dedicated and multiple versions of the Mobvoi apps for you to download and keep your own data separate and walled off from other apps. If I'd have known this before I may have reconsidered buying this watch. Especially as it causes another app I use to crash continuously. This has gone through mobvoi support and this is as expected(!!) Also, it does not synchronise alarms from the phone to the watch! Why not?? This was a staple from all my previous watches, something I'd expect. But no, Alarms must be set on the Mobvoi app instead. Another annoyance. Wear OS is clearly advertised as a core function on the Ticwatch 5, but it clearly is a lie.

Good Piece of Kit
Great Smart watch built well, additional apps required for health monitoring and extra watch faces. Accurate time and decent battery life. Charges quickly and there are a good range of extra accessories such as straps and watch and screen protectors available if you work in heavy industry. The price is great and it certainly holds its own against more expensive brands

Best watch I ever owned
I have owned many smartwatches over the years and the best one hands down was the TicWatch Pro 3. So, when I saw that Mobvoi had brought out an upgrade to the Pro 3 I had to get it. I chose the sandstone colour watch as I really like the colour and it stands out well on formal dress as well as casual over the standard black you mostly get with smart watches. Design At first look you wouldn’t notice a huge difference between the TicWatch Pro 3 and Pro 5 but there are subtle differences. The watch strap has changed from 22mm to 24mm so all the straps I had for the Pro 3 I can’t re use. Also, the screen has increased in size so the I can’t use up my leftover screen protectors from the Pro 3 but these are minor issues. The rotating crown in replacement of the second button is a great addition. It allows scrolling through apps when in smart mode or in low power mode it can scroll through different tracking metrics. Screen The dual display from TicWatch Pro3 which I think was such a game changer is still on the Pro 5 but with some big enhancements. The low power always on LCD can now show live data for heart rate, steps, blood oxygen, calories, and a compass which saves having to go into smart mode view this info aswell as battery saving. Also, when doing a workout, the backlight will change colour based on your heart rate Light Blue - Warming up, Yellow - Fat Burn, Orange - Cardio, Purple - Anaerobic and Red if your heart rate is above 180BPM. The main OLED screen is very snappy and bright. scrolling through the different options is really quick and saw no slow down when open up all the different apps. You can see a big visual upgrade from wear OS 2 on TicWatch Pro 3 to wear 3 on the Pro 5. Battery The battery life on this watch is amazing with all tracking features on, notifications throughout the day and tracking daily workouts this watch lasts about 4 days on a single charge. There are alot of settings you can tweak to extend this further like the essential mode disables all smart features but still tracks steps, heart rate and sleep. The watch come with a new fast charge cable that can charge the watch up over 50% in half hour which would give you easily another day or 2 if you are in a hurry. Health tracking There are so many different metrics this watch tracks it unbelievable, heart rate, blood oxygen level, stress levels, sleep and even skin temperature. Once you have it all setup you get notifications if it even notices an irregular heartbeat. I have even had it that after a very tiring meeting my watch let me know that my stress levels were high, and I might be de hydrated. Summary The TicWatch Pro 3 was an amazing watch but the TicWatch Pro 5 blows it out of the park and is a worthy upgrade. It is the best watch I have owned, and I can’t recommend this watch enough.

Absolut empfehlenswert

Not really waterproof
My watch just died after I dived with them in 1.6 meter pool. The watch survived multiple pool swimming sessions without specifically swimming underwater, but after diving for 1.6 meters there was some water fog on the inside of the sensors. The watch does not charge nor turns on. Otherwise it used to be a nice watch...

Best battery life of any WearOS watch
I have been using Android wear watches aka WearOS from the early days. I had the first Fossil, I had the Mobvoi TicWatch 3, which I liked at the time, but unfortunately it didn't last very long. Had it replaced under warranty after almost a year. I had the replacement for another while but eventually it started acting up again. I think there was an issue with water intrusion. I wear my watches in the water always so I need them to be waterproof. After this I decided to give the Galaxy Watch 4 a try and It worked well until a firmware update bricked it, so Samsung sent me a replacement. The watch has worked well overall, but with all the annoyances of having Samsung installed bloatware and voice assistant. The watch has not been fluid but it was the best option at the time. Well I just received my new Mobvoi TicWatch 5 pro. I ordered the sandstone version which does look great. From my TicWatch 3 days I did always appreciate the dual display for battery savings, so was excited about trying out this new version with the latest snapdragon W5+ Gen1 processor, more ram, and larger battery. My comparison on this watch will be directly against the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Things I really like in the TicWatch 5 pro: Speed: the watch is fast in comparison to my galaxy watch 4 classic. Swiping through the screens is a welcome improvement. I get absolutely no delays. Dual screen: The new dual screen is alot more useful than the TicWatch 3, really like that I can scroll with the crown to get additional information screens. Notification screen: notifications were always kind of spotty on my Galaxy watch 4 classic. I really like how they are displayed by scrolling up on the TicWatch 5 pro Receiving calls: this was always a challenge on the galaxy watch. I am always working in the garage, so I frequently answer calls from my watch. The galaxy had poor sound quality and would not always pick up the call properly. The TicWatch has been flawless with answering calls. Callers say it sounds great even when I'm driving with my hands in the steering wheel. I also notice the Bluetooth range from my phone is awesome, so I can pick up a call while I find my phone. Wear OS experience: I do like the more native os experience of the TicWatch 5 pro. I have a Pixel Phone and prefer a Native Android experience. I really hated the fact that the Galaxy Watch 4 tries to force the usage of Samsung apps many that are not even good, like Bixbi, and Samsung pay. Now TicWatch does have their own health app, but it seems to integrate well with Android Health Connect and Google fit. I did have to use Google fit for better integration with strava. Overall the experience is good, maybe similar to that of Samsung, except Samsung would only support their ECG feature if you have a Samsung phone, this was a dumb decision in their part. I personally use Strava for my exercise tracking which is compatible with both watches but does run much smoother on the TicWatch due to the more powerful processor. The rotating crown: The crown works well, for scrolling up and down, you can change it to scroll through tiles like the rotating bezel on the galaxy watch 4 classic. I mostly use it to adjust the volume when using the Spotify app. Between the rotating crown of the TicWatch 5 and the rotating bezel of the Galaxy watch 4 classic, I do have to say I prefer the rotating bezel, but I can use both without issues as they both function well. I do wear my watch on the right, so the rotating crown is not in the way for me. Battery life: After full charge, Initial 48hrs, with setup and new toy heavy use, I had 30% battery left. I am running real time HR monitoring. I also recorded one Strava MTB ride for 1 hr. After 2nd full recharge: First 24hrs 78% First 48 hrs 50% (recorded One Strava ride for 1hr First 72 hrs 15% (had 2hr ride) I am very impressed with the battery life, This is exactly what I needed, I was just away for the weekend camping and didn't have to charge the watch. Full charge Friday morning, about 30% Sunday night when i returned. This is exactly what I needed. It's been a month with my TicWatch 5 and I do have to say I will not be going back to my galaxy watch 4. The TicWatch 5 pro is far superior. The only thing I miss every now and then is Google assistant, and I hope TicWatch will make it available. I mostly use it to send quick text while riding my bike to tell the family I'm coming home so we can have breakfast together.
