Works just as it should and much cheaper than buy direct form hp. And I refuse to pay shipping prices from hp they wanted $30.00 + just for delivery that is highway robbery.

If you have the MPVI3 you need this cable. The most important use is adding your wideband into the VCM suite logger. it is kind of silly that you have to buy this cable as an addon, and it is a little cumbersome, but it does work and it does easily connect and disconnect to the mpvi3. I have had no troubles with mine so far. I'm using a gen3 vette pcm with aem wideband.

This is the cable you need for your MPVI device if you want to read an analog voltage signal from a sensor or gauge and display that data directly in VCM scanner. You have two options to bring in external sensor data that isn't directly connected to the cars ECM. Either via the MPVI unit itself or via a serial cable that runs from the sensor into your computer. If you want to keep things simple, this cable plugs into the MPVI then wires into your gauge or sensor wire. This keeps everything wired up within the car and all you need to do is hook up one single usb cable to your computer with VCM scanner. The alternative would be wiring the gauge or sensor to a second serial-to-usb conversion cable then plugging in the scanner and the serial-to-usb cable into your computer. More wires, more computer plugs, less convenient. Which is why this cable is the way to go instead. just keep it wired into your car and hook it up directly to the MPVI device as needed. Allowed me to keep all the wiring under the dash and only run one single usb cable out to control everything.
