Not as compact as a Thumb drive or card reader that you can "carry in a pocket" but the rubber feeling cover for the card reader and cable are stronger and its big enough not to lose at the bottom of a pocket of a tablet carrying sleeve. Has slots for both SD and micro SD cards. In December 2016 its one of the few available UHS-II bus interface SD and MicroSD card readers - can read and write to cards with the extra row of pins on the back.
