Buster Kitchen Plughole Unblocker, 150g

Solved my hard blocked drain. Warning ⚠️: keep away from children. Literally, makes a white plume of mushroom 🍄, this is a nuclear option indeed. Very effective

I love this drain unblocker works very quickly and removes any blockage.

The bottle does warn that the product will heat up and cause fumes, but you really do have to look for it in the small text. I also didn’t see that you shouldn’t eat or drink around it, so I’d already made a cup of tea just before using the product. There were a lot of visible fumes coming out of the overflow, and the smell is very strong; I had to open the back door because I was really struggling to breathe. As for draining speed, it’s hard to tell as the product is powder and quite a lot remained above the plug hole for some reason. I had to boil the kettle a couple of times to clear the remaining powder. Some of the powder had also solidified, so I’m not sure if that’s normal or not. The plughole itself looks mostly clean, so it appears to have worked, but half hour after having rinsed the product away with kettle water, the smell is still there and I don’t love it. If it’s worked though, then that’s good, I’ll really have to decide if I’ll be using this product again though

Doesn't seem as good as the bathroom unblocker, which was phenomenal. It didn't fizz so it was hard to know if it was working. Water flows away a little quicker, so perhaps I have less of a blockage, more of a pressure/air lock problem.

I normally love this brand and often buy the bathroom one but this done absolutely nothing to clear my sink. I used two bottles on two separate occasions and it just would not clear the blockage. It also fizzes heavily and get extremely hot and fills the room with strong fumes that burnt my nose. It does foam up and appears to do something but it just didn’t clear the drainage. I would advise only using it if you plan on not being in the same room as it gave me a headache. I ended up using the bathroom variant for the sink and that seemed to do a much better job. It’s not fully cleared but at least the water is draining mulch faster now.
