Seem to be well made.
They seem pretty sharp, and appear to be very well made. And have a nice handle, easy to grip.

The edges weren't square.
I got a set of 5 chisels. Not ONE of them had a square edge. Tat said, they steel seems to be pretty good (I know this from spending time with diamond machinist plates making the end square), and I like that they have a full tang. If you're not good with re-shaping an edge, I wouldn't recommend them.

They are not worth the money.
TRASH and poorly made , don't waste your money and time with these they donot have a full tang as some reviewers claim. they are super dull and need alot of work and mean alot of hours on they entire set. the angle on them are whatever you get they are between 25 and 30 degrees but very inconsistant. I expect them to be some what cheep but these win in that catergory.

Chipped and soft
They were all chipped and dull the largest had a chip bent backward and embedded. When i sharpen them the edge rolls over to the other side. And yes i am properly doing this. The amounts of material removed in a short time on my grinding stone just amazed me 200 grit runs right threw the chisel. Harbor freight cheap orange ones are better.

Decent enough for limited use
Sharp and decent quality. Handles twist in certain situations, but gets the job done well.

I already own chisels, but they are not very good for hogging out material with a mallet. The wood handles are too thin to get a good grip, and a bit too short to tap with a mallet. I wanted a beefier chisel with a longer plastic handle for this kind of work. The handles do feel good in the hand, and they look and feel like a good quality tool. The plastic with through metal tang can be struck with whatever hammer I have, whereas the wood handles will be damaged unless I use a wood or plastic mallet. I could have used these chisels as intended with a few quick strokes on a coarse whetstone to remove the grinding burr, but I wanted to see how well they cleaned up for finer work like shaving end-grain and planing with the grain. Note that any new chisel, no matter how shiny and polished they look should have the back flattened and the cutting edge honed before use. Using a dull chisel to plane wood is just dangerous. I guess if you just do rough work you don’t have to flatten the back, but you only do it once and it's easy to do. Pic 1 shows both sets of chisels. I already lost the cap for one of my wood handled chisels. I much prefer the full-length Lytool protective covers. The metal tang looks very beefy and the end will not mushroom or splinter when using a hammer like wood may if abused. Pic 2 shows the cutting edge of both before sharpening. The Lytool is at top. The cutting face was ground first, then the back was ground flat. This means the burr is folded over the cutting edge and makes it look much rougher than it actually is. This was the worst looking file in the set. The other brand of chisel had the burr removed, but neither is actually sharp. Pic 3 shows the backs. The other brand came out of the box with rust on the 2 chisels I have not yet sharpened. Rust and pitting is not good on any cutting tool. That’s not a nick in the Lytool at top, it’s the folded over burr. Not sure why they didn’t remove it as it’s literally a 5 second job. Both brands are pretty rough ground, so both will take some work to make them flat, shiny, and sharp. Pic 4 shows the Lytool with the back flattened on the right and a factory back on the left. I started with a dual 120/180 diamond flattening plate, then moved right up to the 1000/6000 whetstone. The grind marks evenly disappeared, so the backs are flat from the factory and just need to be polished so they glide when used to plane wood. Yes, there are still visible scratch marks. I didn't have any grits between 180 and 1000. I will use glass and restock my wet and dry sandpaper before doing the rest of the set. After sharpening the front I finished with a quick strop on leather. The steel looks good. Pretty sure they will hold an edge very well. The video shows the paper cut test. Not scientific, but if it can cut paper, it can shave wood (and forearm hair). The chisel shaves end-grain very well, and it surface planes with the grain just like any good sharp chisel will do. I spent a while with the one sharp chisel and made a lot of shavings. The edge held up great, and the chisel is easy to control. I was going to give this chisel set a 4 because of the rough polish, but after using this one sharpened chisel it is worth more to me than I paid for the entire set. It just took a little work to get there. Now a quick 20 second 1000/6000 touch-up and strop once in a while will keep it razor sharp. In summary these chisels feel very good in the hand and are well made with good quality steel. They are coarsely ground, but accurately ground. You can pay more for finer ground and polished tools, but you still have to flatten the back and hone the cutting face bevel. You may spend a little time with these, but you will end up a great tool at a great price. I figure my best chisel is my sharpest chisel, not my most expensive chisel. Hope this helps somebody.
