It's a great case. The hot swap bays are difficult to slide, but they work well and feel secure once they’re in place. Detailing where each case cable goes in the mobo may be helpful, but it's not specified. Overall, this is a great case. I will most likely order again for my backup server.

This chassis offers an incredible amount of space for your setup and for the most part seems to be good quality. The downsides to this case are that the hot swap drive cages feel extremely cheap and flimsy and I don't expect them to last long. Additionally the fans are extremely loud and the top cover has to be removed with screws instead of latches like most other server chassis.

This is a great case for anyone looking to build a Plex Media server. I appreciate that it came with hot swappable fans. In my case, they required too much energy to run with my motherboard; however, you can remove them and use your own. Also, the rear I/O shield does not have easily removable plates. You have to remove them with a pair of pliers. Also, this will fit your over-sized graphics card with just enough head room for the power cables.

I only have two complaints about this chasis, it doesn't come with any documentation, so it's good I have a computer science degree and know what I'm doing. The fans are cheap and WAY TOO LOUD. When I say loud, when I turn it on I had a news broadcast playing on my phone right next to me, and the fans were so loud, I couldn't hear the broadcast. I've racked and stacked in data centers and an entire rack full of beast servers aren't this loud, combined. I have a dell enterprise server with the same type of specs, 8 bay drives, and I have it full. It has 4 fans and it's 75% quieter. So if you buy this case, be prepared to replace the fans. That's what I did. I had to spend an additional 80 dollars for good fans that are quiet and slower, but I have no heat issues and they are now quieter than my dell. So in the end this cost me about $400, which I think is too much, but other than those two complaints, it's a solidly built case. EDIT: I'm changing my rating to one star. This case does not fit in a rack. My rack opening is 19 and 1/16 inch, which is standard. This from handles from end to end is about 1/32 longer and this will not push all the way into the rack. so all in all, the fans are terrible, it won't fit in a rack, so basically, I wasted a ton of money for nothing.

Nice chassis. Well put together, looks nice, and functions well. The reverse cables it comes with allow the backplane to connect to regular motherboard sata ports, so if your MB has 8 ports it will connect to all the drives. Otherwise you can get a regular forward cable and connect an HBA to the backplane. My one complaint is the rails this comes with only allow the chassis to slide halfway out of a rack. The back half of the chassis is still in the rack, which makes the rails pointless as you cannot remove the top or gain access to the chassis at all. There are also no screw holes on the chassis to connect other rails, you have to use ones that are compatible with the studs that are built in to the chassis, which so far have been impossible to find new ones for that are any longer.

. Strong quality. Shaped sheet metal that lines up well. Very DEEP and roomy rack case. Can handle ATX parts such as power supply and motherboard like a glove. With the hot swap drive bays, I hope to get a central handle on keeping media files safe and on the ready. This is going into a machine room, so the L O U D fans aren't that big of a noise problem in my case. Definitely needs a rheostat to control the fan speeds to use in the same room. They run wide open like riding on a C-130 cargo plane. There is no documentation. Documentation? Engineers don't need no stinking documentation. I do know a lot of computer scientist jokes if anyone is interested. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the case and what it offers. I feel I received good value for the quality offered.

perfect for me. I am building a whole server to upgrade my old junky used parts pc that is trying to pretend to be a server. this is great, very large, lots of room, very powerfull fans that come with this unit. I do recomend buying a temp sensor that you can then control the amperage of the fans depending on heat. other wise if you just give these full power, they are loud. they do move a TON of air, which is their job. but they did not include a controller to reduce them automatically whith temps. but that is okay that can be added. if you are looking to build or maybe need a new case. i do recommend this case just not for the beginner.

Overall I'd recommend and say it's a solid 4 star. There is no documentation. what you see in the picture is what you get. With that stated, the case is of solid construct. I got the suggested 20" rails too. What I like: -Solid and sturdy metal case -Top lid opens up by using 4 small screws and is sturdy -Plenty of bolts to spare -visually appealing -ATX Motherboard mounted fine -PSU mounted fine -Rails are sturdy and glide well -No screws needed for the hotswap trays. You angle in one side of the drive and then push in the other side to lock. - It has 8 Hotswap drives but also a mount bracket inside to mount a drive inside (OS maybe). Guessing you could also mount an internal cage. The hotswap drive backplane only needs 2 - 4 prong power. What made it rough to 5 star this -The fans are loud and sound like when you're in a jet cabin about to take off. They go about 3600rpm all the time and are rated for 5k. I tweaked the bios to slow them down, thus drop the noise. Ended up disconnecting one of the 3 until I can change this up. -The fan bracket has side slots to pass wires to the drives. Problem is it's a very narrow width. The ends of my power cables for the drives wouldn't pass through. You can unscrew the fan wall from the case, but kind of a pain. -There is nothing auto locking with the rails. I found the best way is to remove the 2 screws holding the front and back mounting plates with the feet. Then each foot plate, remove the little plates on the the ends that have 2 screws. 2 for front and 2 for pack. Then place the little plate in the front of your rack and place the longer foot on the other side and use the screws to screw them in. Once the front and back feet are in, you can screw back in the sliding part. -The hotswap trays are not durable. The lever could easily break so don't pry but wiggle and tease. When inserting the drive, I found if you kind of throw the drive in while sliding, it connects to where less pressure is placed on the arm. -The sata to minisas cables provided should be longer by 15cm. They barely made it to my board. Guessing other boards may have issues. They were also very rigid and not insulated like most I've seen. They do work as they recognized the 4 sata drives. -A little sad they didn't provide minisas cables and focused on sata drives. Waiting on cable to test sas drives. -Depending on your PSU, you may need extensions to reach the front pane. It seems the manufacturer is from china named daohe. Again, would recommend product as other chassis like this can be junk.

I’m extremely pleased with this case and wish it had been available before I purchased my Chebro and Internal Hard Drive Enclosures. It offers everything you would expect from a case like this: ample space, good ventilation, and excellent airflow. The only minor downside is that the disk trays can be a bit tricky to align with the slots, which might give the impression that they could break. Additionally, you need to ensure the front panel pins are correctly aligned for polarity. Other than that, no complaints!

I have this case. In the manual, it says that it is a SAS controller on the backplane. But, the supplied cables are SATA. I have a LSI SAS card, what do I need to get it working?
