7/11/25 UPDATE: I decided to order another black book knowing about the missing back pocket. I wanted it to have around the house where the pocket wouldn't be as needed as when i'm out with it. Well it arrived today and to my happy surprise and shock it had a back pocket!! Yay! It's strange how 2 of them ordered in the past didn't have it, but today's arrival did!! So you may get lucky lol. I updated my review with a photo of the latest black one and the back pocket! ANOTHER UPDATE: 6/3/25--I finished up the whole black book that I bought back in March. Since it was the one that didn't have a pocket on the back, I just kept it at home and used it for everyday notes, writing down budgets and keeping track of spending. I use a Papermate Ink Joy 100 1.0M black ink pen (bought here on Amazon) and writing on the pages is smooth and with zero bleed onto the back of the page. It's actually a joy writing on the pages and I keep the book handy with me in the house. I find the size of this book to be perfect to carry around not being too big or small and the width is just right too. I came back today to order more because too many times when I find a journal book that I like, it usually disappears when I want to get another one. I now have the black (no back pockets in that color!), the white and the light blue (they have the pockets) and the light blue is very pretty that i'm here to get another one today. The price is also great especially when there's a discount going. This has become my favorite book to write in and I plan to take one along with me on my cruise vacation later this year because I find it's the perfect size to carry around. It comes with 2 bookmark ribbons and a pen holder but I always cut them off lol. I just don't need them and the pen holder sticking out of the book bugs me and I think it looks cleaner and more streamlined without it. 10/10 for this book and I hope Amazon always carries them. UPDATE: 3/15/25-- I tried ordering another book in Black to see if i'd get one with a back pocket and once again it arrived without the back pocket lol. I know it's a trivial thing but I like having it, so I sent it back and now I believe that ALL the Black ones will come without the back pocket, so keep this in mind if you want the Black one! I really like this book so I just ordered a second White one because I like how clean the White looks, and both times that arrived with the back pocket....so if you want the pocket stay away from the black one lol. They are really great books and I enjoy writing in it so i'm bumping my rating from 4 stars to 5. I will buy more colors and if any come with no back pocket you can bet I will return with another Edit! :) EDIT: 3/8/25---The seller replaced the book which was very nice, explaining that it was most likely a random occurrence. So if you wind up with a book without the back pocket, just reach out to the seller and have it replaced. I like the book so much that I bought the white one as well---and it has the pocket in back! The white is very pretty btw so i'm adding the photos of that one as well. I like this notebook but the listing clearly states it has a back pocket and I received one with no pocket. I like using them for receipts and various slips of paper to tuck inside so it was disappointing to receive one without one when it states it comes with it. I can't return it because I had already removed the pen holder that sticks out on the side which I don't like. I will still use it, but be aware that if you like to utilize the back pocket, you may not get it with this book even though it states that you will. I have included photos of the front and back flaps to show I didn't make a mistake and just look at the wrong side of the book lol.

These are great little notebooks. They arrived shrink wrapped together and in great condition. They are hardbound so they have a sturdy feel to them. They have an elastic enclosure to keep them closed. And, a super-plus is that they they come with a pocket on the back page. In addition, they have a designated place for both a page number and the date at the top of each page, which are college ruled. Another very handy feature is that there is a bookmark ribbon attached. You don't have to search through a heavily used pocket book to find the next page to write on. The ribbon is just long enough to stick out about an inch on the bottom of the book. On the cover-page (which is made of sturdier paper than the rest), there is a place for your name, phone number, email, and address. Should you ever lose your book, it has a chance of making its way back to you. Of course, it's also a risk to keep that much information about yourself in one place. But if you are more worried about the contents of the book than you are the security of your life, then that is probably a risk you are willing to take. The features of this little book don't stop here. Lastly, there is also a pen/pencil holder attached to the last page. You will never have to search for one because this can keep it all in one space. If I were to be any cons, I would say that the paper is a bit on the light side. It feels more like the weight of cheap printer paper. But honestly, for my purposes, I don't need a heavier paper because I use mine to store passwords. It's small enough to tuck away out of site, which is exactly what I was looking for. Also if it contained heavier paper, it would be thicker and less portable if you wanted it to take it with you. But honestly, if you wanted a high quality book, you wouldn't be shopping for a budget book on Amazon. Would I buys these again? In a heart-beat! They really are unexpectedly good quality for the money I spent.

Simple journal, as advertised. The color is gorgeous, the pen loop and ribbon bookmark are ok quality. Definitely a decent journal, for the price. I do wish the dot grid was a bit lighter ink though, when I'm writing or sketching, the dots are so dark it's distracting. I'll use it up, but will probably opt for a different brand with a lighter dot grid next time. (Just for my own personal preference)

I didn’t expect the pages of this book to be exactly what i needed i am getting into gouache painting and wanted to start off with small canvases and instead i wanted to journal my work and it has a pocket for you drawing/ writing materials! it has a pen holder and everything this journal should be way more expensive at least 10.99 and you get it for half the price i’m obsessed! my paints come in tomorrow i’ll update with the final result to test if it leaks through the paper or not!

Very sturdy. The elastic pen holder and closure is great for easy note taking and keeping notes together. Also has a book mark.

I love the color. The pages are perfectly dotted. The book is fairly light weight and the pages have a nice feel. I can't really speak for color bleeding because I only use a regular pen and a highlighter to write in mine. On some occasions, I'll put washy tape, stickers, etc in it but that's it.

I love it. I usually use a dot grid but I’ve been wanting to try squared grid and this one is what it says it is. The paper isn’t flimsy, it’s perfect at 120gsm. The normal itself is a tad narrower and taller than an a5 just for reference. It’s nice and compact. Worth the buy.
