How can i test if the unit is accurate could i use distilled which i assume should be zero, thanks!

This TDS meter digital water tester is pre-calibrated in factory, no need calibrate again by customer, we do this to prevent as many calibration related mistakes as possible, and it's easier to use. Tips: To maintain the accuracy, it's better to rinse in clean water or distilled water, then let the probes air-dry, after each use. For your mentioned distilled water, it should read 0 ppm theoretically, but in actual application, if you can't keep test condition very clean, it may read 0-2ppm usually I hope this is helpful to you! What kind of water filters can be tested with a tds water tester for drinking water?

The ONLY drinking water filters that have an affect on TDS are reverse osmosis (RO), distillation, or deionization. The Zero water filter is a deionizing water filter. No other type of filter will significantly reduce TDS. However, you can measure TDS on any drinking water water source to get an idea of the TDS level. Test the PH level of your water.

I tried this on Long Island Water and then on Costco Bottled water and the measurement were different. The function of the tester is accurate to what Costco advertised on their water bottles. It's not tooo expensive so I think its affordable. Follow the directions and its so easy to use!
