Is this game hard to play or could an 8 year old and his mom do it?

Yes it's very confusing even for a 40 year old. Go for the 1st lego Batman game which is more fun ( Lego Batman 2&3 are also confusing ☺).

Is this a two player game?

Hi there, this game is singleplayer only. Regards

Would you say it's as good as ark ham origins

Sadly not played Origins yet, but this one I found is not as good as Asylum.
