Is there any way to create a simmer?

Nope! It’s either hot or it’s not. It cooks fast and is great for boiling in a 500ml to 750 ml cooking mug. It’s great to use but, there is no simmer with this unit. You’ll have to pull the mug off periodically to keep the temp where you want it. Have fun

What is the true weight in oz on the scale? Sorry, I am one of those annoying ounce counters.

It is exactly 30 grams or 1.02 ounces
