Beats any FX Chip EVEN the FX8350 and Overclocks to 4Ghz i5 3470 according to Toms-Hardware, and this has been proven by others, that this (Intel i5 3470) will slaughter the 8 CORE FX-8350 in CPU intensive Sky-rim. We all know with the right ASrock, Gigabyte, or Asus, even MSI, CAN CLOCK THIS TO 4GHZ easy. By base clock, and multiplier, no need to add more voltage, but people have exceeded the 4Ghz. Once again it seems Gigabyte Z77 boards are best for OCing this chip, (GA Z77X D3H) BEST VALUE.! Or MSI Z77 GD65 MOTHERBOARD, goes well with it too @ just around £120 Amazon Bargain, the Gigabyte (GA Z77X D3H) is £104.00 fab price again from Amazon, cheaper even that scan with free postage. I have not Overclocked this cpu, because in my book with a Samsung Pro 840 SSD, its not needed. its only necessary if you have a mechanical flywheel hard drive. its now cheaper here the i5 3470 3.2Ghz with razor sharp IPC, 2x times more Throughput, than the AMD 8 core AMD 8350 BUILT on the bulldozer Architecture. Sorry, before you say, no I'm not even an Intel fan-boy either. I go where the best value for my dollar is folks, and its not with AMD. "AND an TECH", Plus "TomsHardware" Plus "Tiny Tom logan", on YOUTUBE, all agree that this chip is now a complete bargain, the i5 3470. 3.2hz-3.6Ghz no OC.(Just Turbo). For a recent upgrade I went from an Intel Core 2 Quad to this and along with the quicker ram and better board really did notice an improvement. Time really does change quickly in the CPU world and I have noticed that this is a faster, cooler and less power hungry chip which are great reasons to upgrade my ageing 4 year old system. The fan is silent and works very well.

works just fine, easy to place, provided with a cpu fan so don't bother buying expensive cpu coolers. Using basic student stuffs (word, tabs of internet, music, video) at the same time, really smooth havent played any games though but should run high end games for at least 3 more years without any problem. I love it, love the service both the item and the company.

I am very happy with my purchase of this CPU. With a Z75, Z77 or Z68 motherboard, you can overclock this chip by raising the Turbo Multipliers in BIOS. This may require a BIOS Update - It did on my Z68AP-D3 motherboard http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0054X4I4M/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_img_sol_1 - and a very tricky update at that (I had to make a bootable USB Drive running DOS and containing the BIOS update). It can be overclocked up to 4 brackets higher than the stock CPU turbo frequency. This means, you can set the turbo at up to: 4GHz on 1 thread. 4GHz on 2 threads. 3.9GHz on 3 threads. 3.8GHz on 4 threads. And it will dynamically switch between these frequencies depending on your CPU usage. On my Z68 board, however it was limited to 3.7GHz regardless of the amount of threads - this is due to BIOS limitations on some Z68 boards. It runs incredibly fast and doesn't use much power. Combining it with the cheap Alpine 11 PLUS CPU cooler should enough to support these maximum turbo settings in most cases, while keeping operation quiet. All in all - a great CPU.

The i5 3470 is a great CPU and it's the CPU under the 3570 and 3570K, I've been using this for a week now and it handles anything I throw at it. It works great with a GTX 970 and 16GB DDR3 RAM! My CPU came in a small package with no fan, heat sink or thermal paste. This was fine for me, but not everyone has a cooler lying around so check with your seller.

great performing cpu upgraded from my i5 2400s, Runs fallout 4 high settings 60fps 1080p and is still a very capable cpu in todays games currently paired with my r9 290x and both run like a charm

I got this to replace my I7 2600K, which got unstable with years. This I5 was the closest "new" replacement I could find. Processor itself seems to be in a very good condition, if it is 100% new box version or some sort of offspring OEM version, I am not sure; however, it came in a solid Box reasembling original Intel Boxes, had cooler very similar in appearance and design to the original Intel coolers, and processor was visually in a very good condition. It also works well and it seems stable so far with the B75 motherboard I got for it, and Win 10. Delivery was on time as well.
