Works well and good price
I'm happy with this tester. It's accurate, versatile and easy to use. Plus the price is reasonable. Some of these are over $100. It seems the most accurate reading is yielded when it is first inserted in the water, up to the depth mark on the device. If you keep in the water the reading will vary but I don't think that's a problem.

Easy to use
works well. I loaned out my original tester and actually saved a lot of money not buying from the pool supply stores. Checked it against my main panel and it was pretty close

Works, but slow
Works good, just takes a long time to get to final salt reading

This tester is pH-nominal!
I am so impressed with this electronic pool tester. I was tired of guessing with test strips and making trips to the pool store, and this has completely changed my pool maintenance routine for the better. The digital readout is a dream come true. No more trying to match colors on a chart, squinting in the sun, or wondering if the reading is accurate. With this device, I get precise numbers for pH, salinity, TDS, and temperature in seconds. It's incredibly easy to use—just dip it in, press a button, and the results are right there. The accuracy is what truly stands out. I compared the readings to the last time I took a water sample to the pool store, and they were almost identical. This has given me the confidence to make the right adjustments to my chemicals without fear of over-treating the water. This one small device has saved me time, money on unnecessary chemicals, and the frustration of constant re-testing. It's a game-changer for any pool owner, especially those with a saltwater system.

A great, accurate tester at a fair price, would buy again.
Actually pretty accurate! I calibrated it per instructions (after which it read pretty much the same as before, so maybe not necessary but fun) then tested my water, against a drop-test salt checker I bought and against my local pool store. To my surprise this meter was basically spot on pH and very close to salt, but the drop-test checker was way off. It will be getting returned, and this will be my new go-to!

Worthless Piece of Junk - do not buy!
I bought this thing around two years ago, but didn't get around to using it until recently, after draining our pool to do some work on it and then refilling it. If I had bought it less than 30 days ago, I would be returning it for a refund. I'd give zero stars if I could, because it cannot be trusted. Our pool is a salt water pool with salt chlorine generator, and I wanted the tester mainly for testing salinity, but also for the temperature, pH, and total dissolved solids (TDS) functions. It came with three packets of powder to mix with 250 ml of distilled water each to calibrate the pH at three different levels. After doing those calibrations, it seemed to agree nicely with the chemical pH color test. However, it didn't come with the necessary solutions for calibrating the electrical conductivity (EC). The TDS and salinity functions are based on the EC. Without EC calibration, I was getting salinity readings in the ballpark of what I knew they should be, but always somewhat higher, based on the known volume of the pool (12,000 gallons) and the known quantity of salt I added (360 lbs). The salinity should be right about 3600 ppm, but the tester tended to read usually closer to 3700 or even more. The worst part is the TDS always read around 100 ppm LOWER than the salinity. TDS includes salt, as well as calcium, total alkalinity, CYA, and any other solids that have been dissolved in the water, so it should always be higher than the salinity. My TDS should be reading around 4100 or so. So I purchased the necessary EC calibration solutions and did that calibration. After doing that, the TDS and salinity readings of my pool water are even higher than before, with TDS STILL LOWER than salinity. What's more, doing that calibration broke the pH reading. Prior to doing the EC calibration (maybe an hour before), I got a pH reading of about 7.7, which, again, agreed pretty well with the chemical test. After doing the EC calibration (which should NOT have affected the pH calibration), the tester gives a pH reading of 7.2 or less on my pool water, and it is telling me that the pH of distilled water is between 5 and 6, which is ridiculous and impossible. (It should be about 7.)

Works but doesn't measure specific gravity specifically.
Does not work as needed for saltwater aquarium... it doesn't measure specific gravity (which I missed) but it is also advertised for a fish tank so thus the 3 stars. It does seem to work as long as you know the PPM - PPT conversion to get to specific gravity. BUT on the specific gravity I read that if you measure it in PPM or PPT that will not translate well back to SG so it is best to get a tester for that.
