Seems to be ok
1st time trying this as have been curious to do so. 1st impressions are promising, lathers well, lovely scent, easy to hold,my regular shampoo has started to leave my hair feeling greasy despite using a clay shampoo when it gets too bad. This bar hasn't done that on the 1st wash as when dry it feels normal- seems to be drying quickly too, will use it a while then update any changes

Really like it! My honest review
First time using any soap bar shampoo, i'd seen this on social media but wasn't until my hairdresser recommended it, that I decided to give it a try. I was sceptical at first, and really didn't think this would be for me after the first wash as I didn't find it lathered up well but after using it for a few days I found it got easier to use. This is now my 3rd time purchasing this shampoo, I wouldn't recommend just buying the shampoo as it does make your hair feel very dry and knotty, until you use the conditioner which instantly moisturises and makes the hair feel fab. I love that it doesn't have any chemicals, and that it makes my hair less greasy (I can now go longer without having to wash it). Personally my cons are the smell (doesnt smell bad, just very subtle), and how long a bar lasts. It reads 100 washes, but this is not accurate. I have mid length hair and I'd say it lasts maybe 30 washes, I also dislike how the soap crumbles when it gets the end, which makes it a little trickier to use nevertheless I intend to keep using this as I find it has helped settle my dry scalp, doesn't strip my colour, helps disguise my split ends and leaves my hair looking shiny and healthy. I am now looking to invest in the hair mask!

Weighing up the pros and cons
Pros: This volumises your hair, so that it appears to be fuller and thicker. I had regrowth in certain areas. Noticeably less fall out when washing my hair. Pleasant smell and lathers well, leaving your hair squeaky clean. Recyclable packaging. Cons: Too expensive (purchased for £10 and does not come with a mesh bag, sold separately). This is meant to last 100 washes. But it only lasted just over a month with use as prescribed (twice a week). I was hoping to find regrowth where there is thinning but unfortunately this isn't the case. It may occur with longer use over time, however the price of this has doubled on Amazon and I will not be buying again at that price; not for the size and definitely not for the longevity. I was expecting that my hair would become less oily over time and I could therefore reduce hair washes to once a week but this also wasn't the case. The effects may differ according to hair type and length. Meant to lather in your hands but I found it worked better when scrubbing the soap in to my hair. I am glad that I tried this because it is a better alternative to bottled shampoo, where my hair is greasy within a few days. I considered soap and will continue but with affordable alternatives. Edit 12.09.24 - I am seriously starting to regret switching soaps. My latest purchase may be cheaper but my hair falls out a great deal in every wash and even when dry or brushing through. This was hardly the case with Kitsch. I will revisit once the price is right.

Sulphate free great quality shampoo for silky hair
Great quality shampoo, lasts a long time and leaves my hair feeling silky smooth. It's easy to use and stays in one piece until it's almost used up. I originally tried it because it's sulphate free and I've been really impressed with the quality of the shampoo.

It's okay
The shampoo is okay. Not the best, not the worst. Lathers well and spreads on wet hair easily. It doesn't clean oily/mixed hair well enough so I'll be going back to my previous bar shampoo by another brand. As I have only used twice so far I can't comment on longevity. Compared to my previous shampoo this one leaves my hair flat looking.

Wow
I very rarely write a review but this is amazing. I have bleached hair and in the midst of menopause, my end are dry and permanently snapping g so I’ve been looking for something special that supports my hormones and lifestyle choices. Pictures cannot do this justice. I reviewed all the reviews and pictures and was skeptical but this is amazing. I usually dry and straighten my hair before bed because the ends are so frazzled they only way to look sleek is to restyle in the morning but with this my hair is soft, it is no long breaking, I only have to straight once. Honestly the pictures do not do justice, you have try this. I will never go back to conventional shampoo. It’s not too bubbly in my hands but i actually rubbed the soap on my hair and it worked like a charm. It’s a dream, you have to try it to feel it for yourself

I love Kitsch
I really love Kitsch and I’m a total convert. This shampoo is what originally got me into using them and it is really nice. I’ve since started using the castor oil (the pink one), purely because I think my hair was looking a little frizzy with this - it was a little harder to keep up to as I needed to oil more of my hair afterwards. I have really sensitive skin and I often come out in rashes with products but I never have with kitsch shampoo or conditioner which is the dream! I also use the strong bond repair bar as my conditioner as my hair seems to like that the best 😊 My hair always feels nice and clean after using it - I apply it by rubbing onto my scalp, making sure to move sections of hair to really get in there and then get lots of bubbles.

Incredibly damaging!!!!
Significant hair loss and damage from friction. Impossible to lather up for a decent cleanse. Claims to be eco friendly. How can it be eco friendly when customers have the ability to buy just one item and have it delivered. Same happens on their website from America. Initially purchased from their website and re-purchased off Amazon because I thought I was using it wrong. Their website only allows reviews for a certain time frame which is not surprising given the poor product!

The soap looks natural and has mild smell and foam as well I think using same conditioner bar will be recommended for perfect result.

My husband & I both love Kitsch's Rice Shampoo Bar! I especially love it because it is so gentle on my bleached hair (which is then coloured baby pink) & does not fade my colour at all! Since I tone my hair a very light pink it usually never lasts more than a couple weeks - shampooing about 3 times a week. With the Rice Bar it doesn't seem to fade much at all. This is the first shampoo (and I have tried many) that has not significantly faded my hair colour, while thoroughly cleansing it and leaving it incredibly soft - So soft that I can get away without conditioning it - which is unheard of with bleached hair! That said, I purchased the Rice Conditioning Bar as well and it is wonderful! My husband & I use the Rice Shampoo Bar from head to toe. We find it is a very good body wash as well - one & done. I will definitely be repurchasing!

(Addendum to original review.). So- this shampoo bar did not help whatever weird condition is afflicting my scalp. However- I am giving this bar five stars, because Kitsch, as a company, is providing a level of incredible customer service that has become increasingly rare. All I can say is I now know this company really, really cares about its customers. So- though this product may not have worked for me- I am absolutely going to try other Kitsch products. I am happy to support a company that cares so much for what people think about their products. Again- the product itself was a pleasure to use. And it’s a good buy, because if kept dry, you are going to get a lot of use out of it. My point is: the standards of this company, and the quality of their products, have made sure I remain a Kitsch customer. And I *highly* recommend ordering from them. They are an absolute joy to deal with. Thank you. I always have high hopes for solid shampoo bars. I've tried several, but none of them seem to help with what is going on. Since moving to the Midwest from the West Coast years ago, my scalp has been really dry and, about a month after moving here, a patch of hair the size of my palm just dropped off the top of my head. This hair eventually grew back, but it will not grow longer than about 3/4 of an inch. I've been to lots of doctors and had cortisone injections (I also tried Minoxidil) and tried a million dandruff and anti-fungal and other treatment shampoos, and nothing has gotten rid of the dryness. It's not dandruff- the doctors let me know that. They just don't know what is going on. My scalp almost gets a granular feel to it. I've also tried many scalp scrubs, which provide some temporary relief, but the weird granular dryness always returns. I think the only way I'll be able to get rid of the scalp thing is to move back to live next to the ocean. Financially, that is not an option right now, so I remain stranded in the dried-out flatness for the foreseeable future. The positive reviews for this shampoo bar made it sound effective, and also studies have shown that rice water really can encourage hair growth. The shampoo bar went on sale for Prime Day, so I thought why not give it a try. The bar itself is pleasant to use. It had no obvious scent that I could detect. I found the bar held together, even in the stream of water from the shower. I initially used it by rubbing the bar on my scalp until it foamed up, then used my rubber scalp scrubber as usual. I didn't use any conditioner after the first time, as I wanted to gauge as accurately as possible the product had on my scalp. After my hair dried, I noticed that my scalp was once again covered in a weird layer of dryness. I then applied some leave-in scalp treatment, and that helped, but I realized sadly that it was looking like this shampoo bar was making the condition of my scalp worse. My hair felt fine- it didn't feel "stronger," but it felt clean. It was just that my scalp still felt dry, and strange. The next time I used it, I worked up a lather between my hands, then applied the lather to my scalp, as opposed to rubbing the bar on my head. I let the lather sit on my scalp for at least two minutes, then used the scalp scrubber, then rinsed, then followed with conditioner. Again, after my hair and scalp dried, I noticed the layer of dryness on my scalp seemed a bit worse. The next time I shampooed, I used a clarifying shampoo to try to reduce the layer of crud on my scalp. After my hair dried this time, my scalp was much less congested, and felt much cleaner and refreshed. So-- this product is just not for me. I wish it worked, as I can tell the bar, if it is allowed to dry, should last for quite awhile, and I was hoping to see some growth-boosting effects, as some have. However I am looking for something to improve the condition of my scalp, and this shampoo bar is obviously not working.
