Gates 44039 Premium Engine Water Pump

Typically, I would recommend anything made by Gates. In this case, I purchased thru Amazon and been unsuccessful in submitting a warranty claim. Water pump began leaking from behind the pulley approximately 2 weeks after installing it. Since I didn't install it for several weeks after purchasing, by the time it failed, the window to return/refund on Amazon has closed.

This pump lasted 6 months. I thought Gates was a good brand name and unfortunately this part didn't work out. Go buy the Mopar part, save time and money by doing the job once.

I was skeptical about this particular gates water pump due to reviews here. I have never had major issues with gates water pumps not lasting a decent amount of time without failing/leaking so I gave it a shot to find out for myself. I have only installed the water pump and don't have many miles on it yet, but I will update my review at next oil change and inspect the water pump.

I am very happy with my item, it turns on pretty quickly, it can heat water in a minute or less, it is easy to carry and weighs almost nothing, excellent for camping or you can also carry it in your backpack without any problem.

I replaced a leaking stock pump at 40k miles. This one seems to be good quality and was an easy install. I've put about 5k miles on it so far, and it's working as it should.

Great quality. I haven’t fitted it yet but it appears as good or better than OEM.
