It's easy to see that this model has a much sturdier construction. The plastic is hard and has a good structure and finish. If you look at the picture, you can see how the handles are constucted, and the internal walls make them much harder to break. The design is superior to other models, and by having a sturdy spring that compresses when used, there is almost no chance of it snapping like in the cheaper models. It's also fits nicely in my grip, and adjusting it is very straight forward. You simply turn a metal wheel that adjusts the angle of the spring, therby making it harder or easier to compress the grip trainer.
