I purchased 3 of these for a bbq - They are 'large' not extra large in my opinion. The inner bowl is stainless steel, the chiller base is clear plastic and the lid is clear plastic - just as shown in photos. You put ice in the clear plastic base and place the stainless bowl on top of the ice. So... it keeps the bottom of the salads colder - but not really sure it's effective for food safety beyond 2 hours. But it's cooler at the bases of the salads. They look very nice on a buffet line. Tip - crushed ice works best as chunky ice doesn't allow the stainless bowl to sit well. Overall I think they are highly overpriced. Hand wash all parts. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. The server meets my need for a portable and covered chill platter, and the size is perfect. It keeps the food fresh and chill. The middle tray has several compartments and holds food well. The included ice trays are useful too. I can prepare extra ice if needed. I have used it for salad and chips and snacks, and will try it for sashimi and rolls later. It’s a very sturdy but light weight and can be cleaned easily by dish washer. So the whole package is perfect for my family. Great product, highly recommend!

I bought this bowl for a great big fruit salad. It came on time, first of all, thanks to Amazon Prime ❤️ and the bowl itself was nice and big. It holds the ice in it perfectly in order to keep the food cold and the lid works perfectly with the spoons, so that you don’t have to worry about putting the spoons on the side.

Larger than expected; this holds a lot of shrimp! I like that it comes with three pieces — the tray itself, a bottom part for ice, and a cover. Many other brands make you use the ice holder/cover interchangeably (two pieces instead of three). Mine also came with silicone ice trays; have not had a chance to use them yet, but they look like nice quality.

This container worked great for our party. Although smaller than I expected, it kept our sides cool during an outdoor summer party. It looked nice and the clear design helped to identify what each compartment contained.

Works great. Doesn't sweat. Ice stays good for several hours. Holds quite a bit. Washes great in the dishwasher. 10/10 product. Love it.

It kept the fruit chilled all afternoon.
