Review: Works fine! - It is holding up well, but be sure to tin the stranded wires so that they attach securely to a wire nut. The fit in the outlet box is quite snug (even with an extra deep box), so if you mash the controller into the box, you have a chance to loosen a connection so the controller works intermittently -- a problem that can be very difficult to diagnose. Proper care in the installation can save headaches later! I was surprised to learn that some timers do not properly operate exhaust fans, so I got this one because it states that it is specifically for use in exhaust fans. Like most specialty switches, this one is rather bulky. My house has very old, small metal boxes. If you have the same problem and can't get everything to fit, you have a couple options. You can get an extender plate that makes the faceplate stick out a little from the wall or you can remove the old box, cut the hole a little bigger, and install a larger remodeler conduit box. This would be a reasonable project for a competent DIY'er, but, as with everything electrical, if in doubt, call a pro. Anyway, I am a happy camper. I can vent my bathroom without forgetting to turn off the fan and wasting heat. I used this to replalcel another brand unit that went on the fritz after 1-2 years of daily use.
