This is my first unorthodox pomade. To note, I have blonde and VERY thick hair and this product worked excellently on my hair!I probably didn't use enough but even a 20p size amount gave me a nice shine without looking greasy and the hold stayed the whole day. The texture of the product is similar to SOHO Fish Fingers Wax except it doesn't end up sticky, feel heavy or clumpy in your hair like the wax and I would say the hold is better.Styling was easy enough, got the desired look in about 30 seconds using this product, I didn't expect it to be so easy since I had been using a wax product which was a pain. For speed and convenience for styling as well as the finish, this product is a winner.One thing to note is the scent, I was between 4 and 5 stars based on it. Personally I quite like it, it has a citrus/rum/tobacco fragrance, sort of like a macho aftershave.There is the other product Modern Pirate do the Superior Pomade, I'd like to try that in comparison but for thick hair, the heavy hold pomade works great!One drawback is a bit like a wax, there are few strands that felt like it was gel or wax applied as the strands felt clumped but this was very, very minor and a small amount of water sorted this right out.To add as well, this washes out very easily as well unlike oil based.
