Two matching shower heads we had purchased in the past had to be returned because this particular part broke. It was made of only plastic. We loved the shower head, so we purchased a third one and bought this to use instead.It is not all metal, but it does have some metal parts inside. We bought it several months ago, and so far everything is working well. It did cost as much as the whole wand shower head, however.

Works great as a replacement to the cheap plastic one the shower head came with. It is an exact match for this style. Not sure if it was just mine or if others had this issue but it did not come with all the gaskets the original had so I had to reuse a few. So if possible hang onto the old one for the gaskets. Otherwise you’ll be making a trip to the hardware store.

Great replacement for the original plastic part. Made the way the original should have been. The only drawback is that the chrome doesn’t match the original shower head

This replacement part to the Magnetix shower system is of an extraordinarily higher quality than the cheap (now broken) attachment that came with the original product. Where did it break? At the plastic neck! Strain from adjusting and the weight of the unit overwhelmed the poorly-considered plastic threads of the OEM part through regular use, requiring a $40+ replacement part to keep the shower head.The unexpected benefit?This all-metal replacement is like upgrading from a Civic to a Porsche; The construction simply feels solid, the magnetic thunk of the head snapping in during use provides confidence, and the swivel part of the unit effortlessly goes wherever you put it (with a higher range of motion), with minimal resistance, and stays there (similar to the premium feel of a MacBook lid, iykyk.)This item is 10/10, however, corporate greed prevents this item from being the one that comes in the box, suggesting that Moen knows darn well their cheap plastic original is likely to break, thus they lined up this overwhelmingly better accessory for those whom manage to wear out their original.Buy once, cry once, then enjoy a replacement that feels like it will last forever.Recommended, though quite annoyed.

Metal base much better than the stock plastic crap base. Moen should have included this.

I had a Moen hand-held shower that I bought a few years' ago. The magnetic base was mostly plastic and the grooves attaching it to the shower were worn out...water was leaking. This accessory appears to be much more durable and solved my leakage problem. It was less expensive than purchasing a new showerhead.

Our previous shower head was plastic and it broke while we tried to tighten it. This new one was much better quality, so we ordered another head for our guest bathroom.
