Didn’t expect to be impressed by a bin, but this one really stands out. It feels solid and well made, and the soft-touch opening works smoothly and quietly every time. So you know your getting old when you get excited about a bin... I have wanted a Brabantia bin for years but could never justify that amount of money for a kitchen bin. My previous bin leaked beetroot juice on my then new carpet whilst transferring it through my living room to the wheelie bin. It's the only exit available. As you can imagine I was mortified. It would not come clean properly not even with bleach. Last week I invested in a new carpet for the living room, instantly I thought to myself I can now justify the expensive bin. Although it is just a bin I am not disappointed. It is made of outstanding quality and far superior as bins go. I normally purchase the big heavy industrial black bin liners from our local market in bulk. These fit the bin perfectly, it has ample room inside an only needs emptying every 2 days. The structure of the bin is lightweight but robust and sturdy and the touch lid is a novelty to me, I hope the catch lasts the test of time. I am very happy with it. I still think for all its positivity it's expensive but I am a tight wad from Yorkshire.

The bin itself is mostly made of metal, aluminium I assume. No quality issues. The touch lid works flawlessly, have been using it a few months now and no noticeable decline in quality during that time. There is a small clip type fitting each side of the bin for you to thread the line under, this appears to ensure the liner is both in the proper place and also hidden when the lid is installed. All bin surfaces are wipeable and easy to clean. I would buy this product again.

Ordered this as I wanted a sturdy, large kitchen bin, and as far as those requirements go, I'm very happy. Would have been better if it had handles (little bits of plastic sticking out on the sides don't count and are next to no use!) to aid moving when cleaning the kitchen. Cleaning the bin itself is tricky - even using bags, there's always going to be a smell eventually, but there's a ridge around the inside of the bin at the bottom which traps any little bits which somehow make their way in there, and it's very hard to clean as it's quite tight between the ridge and the walls of the bin itself. Other than that, am happy with it, although it is a bit overpriced even for a metal bin. Hope the lid (which opens and closes very nicely, and doesn't seem too fragile on the catch) lasts as long as the bin itself, as a replacement is about half the price of the entire bin!

Excellent buy.Bought to replace another bin of the same type that I have had for twenty years plus I only replaced it because I needed a different colour but it was quickly claimed by a neighbour who was delighted with it. The bin is very sturdy,Great capacity without looking out of place and too big and clumsy.

Wow I never thought I would be so excited about a bin, how sad is that but the whole family are sad too because we've all said this bin is the best bin ever, we used to have a brabantia bin years ago a bit smaller than this but the lid broke after many years and we made do with a large plastic Ikea Bin. This bin was on a black friday deal at almost half price, I thought long and hard about spending £96 on a bin but took the chance and so happy that I did - its fits under a work surface but is massive, we emptied our previous bin 2-3 times a week but this bin will probably last us almost a week. I have purchased the perfect fit brabantia bin liners (bought in bulk as its cheaper) that are an absolute dream to fit which means the whole family can empty the bin too rather than fill it so much the lid wont close - no excuses now. The lid opens and closes so smoothly and the catch is on the lid not the frame so doesn't get clogged with waste stuff thrown in the bin! The outside of the bin is like a brushed chrome and looks so stylish and clean all the time - unlike a shiny chrome thats gets covered in fingerprints and dog nose prints! If you are in two minds whether to buy this bin and are looking for a large one just do it - we are a family of 5 and its plenty big enough. Can't recommend it enough.

Much better than a flip top bin which doesn't open wide enough or stay open meaning rubbish always ends up on the floor. This bin is large with a wide opening big enough to fit a dustpan in and best of all the lid opens easily and stays open until you are done. Pretty expensive for a bin though.

Brabantia est une excellente marque. J'ai deux poubelles de la marque. Toutefois, cet achat était une erreur. Javais un soucis de fermeture de l'une de mes poubelles et ai directement commandé une nouvelle poubelle avant de m'apercevoir que la pièce pouvait être commandée individuellement et au pire le couvercle de la poubelle changé. J'ai donc annulé la commande pourtant reçue dans un délai acceptable. J'ai eu un bon de retour rapidement puis le remboursement. Le remboursement a pris quelques jours, notamment lié aux fêtes de fin d'année et au ralentissement de l'activité. Les deux autres poubelles que j'utilise depuis 1 an et demi sont extrêmement satisfaisantes. La qualité est indéniable et la contenance parfaite (60L). J'en ai deux : une pour les déchets ménagers et l'autre pour le plastique et le verre. Bien fermées, pas de problème d'odeur. Solides.
