Simply fantastic
Bought this after watching My Cat From Hell and after checking out Jason Galaxy's cat toys on his site. Then I went shopping on Amazon... I also bought the mouse catcher with a wire, and it's simply fantastic in combination with this feather toy clipped onto it. Normally my little tiger simply can't be bothered with the flying toys but THIS ONE?? Oh boy, I tell you he's in a frenzy, when the feathers come out to play! The sound of these feathers in the air is absolutely perfect for a grown up cat (and every cat in between I guess). I think he likes it very much, his tail is going crazy and his eyes are completely dilated because he's in a very aroused state when this toy comes forth! The feathers are relatively large, and most important: Natural with a great "stiffness" to them, that imitates real birds' feathers. I love the quality of this product, and I guess I will need to buy another one later... hehe.

Costing more for poorer quality product. Avoid and go with the alternative brands.
Price has steadily gone up whilst quality has steadily declined. Less dense and poorly constructed these don’t last more than one or two sessions with the cat anymore. They used to last at least a month as long as you kept them hidden when not in use. Over the last year the ones I have bought have been very “luck of the draw” with a tendency towards rubbish. The alternative brands you see don’t seem to send the cat as wild but it’s hard to justify the cost of DaBird if it arrives spindly and dissolves within the first 10 minutes of play.

Prefer the standard Da Bird attachment
The original Da Bird attachment is a big hit with both my cats, Marcus and Marcia. In fact, Marcus, the shy one, is very territorial about it and fiesty Marcia has a hard time getting a go at it! So I bought the "Super" refill thinking it would give them even more fun. It has a louder flutter which I thought would excite the kitties. However, I find it harder to flick and control and the kitties don't seem that excited by it despite several attempts with it. The flight seems much faster, a bit too fast for them. Luckily I also bought the standard size refills and have gone back to them. I will keep alternating the attachments and perhaps in time will master the different flight pattern of the "Super" refill.

OK but not worth the extra cost
I'm using this with my Purrsuit wand. It's good, and the cat loves it, but it's not worth the extra cost, simply because the long feathers are quite delicate and they got bent the first time the cat caught it. It's good, but just not worth paying extra compared to the standard one because it's delicate. For the same price you can get the Purrsuit wand with one attachment.

And I thought Da Bird was as good as it got.
Having bought 2 rods and normal feather refills for my 3 cats in the past - I know how good Da Bird is and how much cats love this toy! Recently, however, despite trying the mouse and sparkler refills - my cats were starting to get a little sluggish at playtime. This Super Guinea Feather refill has sprung life back into them all! The minute I attached it to the rod, all 3 (even my slightly over fed Lady) were doing 4 legged jumps and back flips to get at it! Now for the serious bit - it is more twirly (technical expression) and spins wildly with the slightest movement and the quality is still very good. Always make sure you keep it out of reach when its not in use - otherwise they will find it and try and eat it! Yay for springy mad cats and respect for this fantastic toy.

The good, the bad, and the feathery.
You seem to get a good one or a not so good one with these. I've ordered a few now, as my cat absolutely loves her Da Bird toy and will crunch her way through feathers all day long if you let her. I suppose it all depends on the width and the placement of the feathers, but some of these don't spin and flutter as well as others, which doesn't capture my cat's attention as much. Still, when you get a good one, they're great. Shame they're so expensive.

Can't get enough of these
Our cats (particularly out young Nebelung) absolutely love "Da Bird". It is the BEST CAT TOY EVER. The biggest issue we have is that the Nebelung often runs off with the feathers in her mouth, dragging the whole toy behind her - a hilarious sight! The problem with her doing this is that she runs into the house and the pole gets caught on the step. This means that occasionally the feathers rip out of the tip and the cat has just a mouthful of feathers, but I would rather this happened than it yanked her mouth or head. It just means we have to keep getting a stead supply of refills, but this is a small price to pay for the fun the cats have.

My cat's favourite attachment for the Da Bird
I bought the Da Bird for my cat at Christmas after it was recommended by a friend. My cat loved it, and as she liked the feather attachment in particular, I just had to get the 'super' version. When I first saw it I was a little disappointed as I expected bigger feathers but what do I know? Not much it seems! My cat goes crazy for this. She is constantly asking to play with it! It 'flies' much better than the standard feather attachment. The only downside is we sometimes have to stop playing as my cat gets so excited she is a danger to herself - charging around like a maniac! I would recommend this to all cat owners.
