Since then they have lived in my 'Why do you hate me, Lord' emergency kit in the car. Waterproofs, warm stuff, torch; well you get the picture. Luckily I have never used them in anger, although I did carry out some tests in the next couple of days. They worked well and were very visible from some distance. I then forgot about them until I was doing some routine checking. Routine, in my case meaning every millenium; if I remember.
