10gbps card, plug and play
As ever with Synology branded kit, it’s expensive, but it is genuinely plug and play. I just had to take the blanking plate off the back of my DS1522+ and the card slides right in. I’m only using 2.5gbps at the moment as that is what my motherboard has, but at some point I will get up to 10gbps.

Ok you need to get a few more bits to make this work like a switch with two and 10GbE RJ-45 and a card for you PC with two 10GbE RJ-45 to really make this work as it should but once you have them in place your internal transfer rates are sorted, just wish Openreach were able to proform as well

it works ,fitted in mins
With windows 11 this network card was discovered and working within mins at 2.5Gbs. Paying the extra for peace of mind from a known supplier i think is worth it on this occasion.

VERY expensive
It does the job, ie transfers at 10Gb/s, but,,, what a complete rip off, as are all Synologys 'accessories'! They should be ashamed at ripping their cutomers off, hence the 3 stars,, or should it have been one.

Fait le job, un peu cher

Arrivato in confezione perfetta, scheda originale di espansione sul retro. La ho utilizzata sul mio NAS Synology DS-1522+ e attaccata con un cavo UTP 7 (basta un 6a) sul mio router Ubiquity a 10 Gigabit. Funziona benissimo. Il synology permette comunque di mantenere come backup le 4 porte LAN da 1 Gibait se questa avesse dei problemi. La scheda sta funzionando ormai da qualche mese senza alcun problema. Anche il montaggio è facile: basta aprire lo slot sul retro e inserire la scheda; entrando poi nel DSM ci sono tutte le opzioni di configurazione.

The easiest way to dramatically speed up access to your Synology NAS and remove speed-related bottleneck. Obviously, your whole network needs to run at 2.5/5/10G. The upgrade process is extremely straightforward, shutdown and booting up your NAS takes longer time than actually installing this network unit. After the upgrade I have managed to get reliable 2.5G connection in my home network. Time Machine backups, working with Lightroom directly from NAS - has become much, much smoother. This upgrade is essential if you have SSDs in your NAS. The only drawback is the price.
