Molon Labe 9mm Safety Training Ammo - Dummy Ammunition (Orange)

I've ordered 4 sets of 9mm and 4 sets of .40 caliber for pistols and absolutely love the safety ammo. Perfect for malfunction drills. Somehow they mistakenly sent me 1 set of 9x18, but I emailed them and they quickly responded and sent me a new set of 9mm safety ammo. Great product, great service, and quick shipping.

The service was 110%. I got my package a day early. I use these for my cheap striker fire pistol. The dummy round is needed to de-cock it, as it has to be dry fired otherwise. The plastic is cheap and I've busted the lip off of one of the bullets already, but they were the least expensive safety rounds out there. They will eventually fail, because they are disposable. If you want them to last, spend the extra money on the red plastic, spring-loaded, snap caps. Don't buy these and then cry about them breaking. This is why you get 5 per package.....like BIC lighters.

i purchase 9mm, 45acp, and 223 training round and they all have the same problem. the extractor on all my firearms breaks rim of the plastic round so the extractor won't pull the round out of the chamber. and this happened the FIRST time i put it in my gun. i thought my 1911 was just to ruff. so i put it in my glock, did the same thing now every plastic round in 45 is broke and unusable . 223 did the same thing just not as bad. the big problem i had with it was when i was doing double feed drills it would get stuck above the bolt carrier group and it took about 15 minuetes to get that plastic round out. i will not buy again. i feel i got ripped off.

This 9mm "Safety Training Ammo" are VERY orange so can not be mistaken for live rounds, which is exactly what we wanted for use at my small sporting goods shop when providing training or checking the functionality firearms we buy. These do allow for "dry firing" and hold up well, but since they are plastic they do wear out at the rims with a lot of use. We consider these to be "consumable" and replace them as needed. Plastic ammo is the way to go when you need to ensure that all those tap-and-rack drills are firmly embedded in muscle memory and have become pure reflex. Type I and Type II stoppages are readily simulated by ensuring each magazine has at least one plastic round inserted at random, and after a few hundred rounds in realistic conditions (multiple targets, moving targets, moving operator under stress, etc.) tap-and-rack will happen without conscious thought or pause - which is what counts when rounds are coming your way. I'm a firm believer in practicing in as close to real-world situations as possible because you will fight as you train. So if your training is soft, so will you be if you're ever put into a bad situation. While plastic rounds are only one small part of the overall training equation they are an essential component and so I can heartily recommend these aids - it's just a shame they are so expensive, as you'll need several sets if you want to keep things going under pressure and have 6 to 10 magazines to load before things get started. And the bright orange color is easy to find in the dirt and grass, so you probably won't have lost too many by the end of the day.
