๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ๐พ5 paw approval!
So, the small was too small in the neck. But fit in the chest. The medium is a tad bit loose around the neck, but way more comfortable for my dog. She is a mix of Chihuahua, Corgi and Pembrook Terrior! And she weighs a solid 14 lbs, no fat issues! She is a brisk walker so there is no pull or choking! The harness is well made. Stitching is reinforced and overall light in weight. I find no issues and plan on buying another color for her. I do not find the harness to be that expensive. It took me 8 weeks to find one my dog and I both like, and I can say that stores likes PetCo and Pet Smart or even Chewy were in the range of $25 and up! So I do recommend.

Best harness for a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso that we have found yet (updated 11/22/19)
We have a 17 pound white Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu mix. She is large for her breed and a little overweight. This harness fits her perfectly and the wife really likes it. Easy to put on, not confusing like some. Appears well made, comfortable and very unlikely she can slip out of it. Arrived promptly and the packaging was easily removed and disposed of. We chose the pink one which really looks nice against out dog's white coat. We would have liked to have had the small size for our 11 pound brown Shih Tzu, but that size isn't being offered at the present time. Too bad, they lost a sale... Good News! They now offer this harness for smaller dogs... The bad news is that our smaller dog is too large for the small size and too small for the large size. When I called Eco-Bark to apprise them of this issue, the wonderful customer service person informed us that they have a new model called the Custom Fit which allows the dog owner to adjust both the neck size and the chest girth. They sent us the new model right away and we have already tried it out. Thanks to the additional adjustment features, we were able to make it fit perfectly! We are very pleased with both of our Eco-Bark harnesses and certainly will purchase others when these wear out. Which, fortunately for us, takes quite a while, they are built to last. Our dogs get taken out at least 4 times daily and they are always on the leash for their protection in the area we live. So we put a lot of wear and tear on these harnesses and they stand up well... Good job, EcoBark!

Soft & Sits well on the body, wish the collar was adjustable
I bought two of these for 12- and 14-week-old corgi puppies. Pros: - Love how it goes on. Itโs easier than any other harness Iโve used - Super soft and comfortable like a sweater vest, not at all stiff and โstraight-jacketโ-like - When properly adjusted, it sits well on the body. Nice and low in the neck, ample leg room without their legs rubbing the harness as they walk. - Bright colors make them easy to spot (I got blue and purple) - Well-made - VERY affordable - The ring is placed well, not too far forward or back. - Doesnโt come off even when the puppies suddenly decide they want to escape -At least in little dogs, holds up to tugging Cons: - I really wish the collar portion was adjustable at least a little bit. Corgis can have an odd neck-to-body ratio, especially when theyโre puppies. What fits in the body is usually too big in the neck. This is no exception. Luckily, it was inexpensive enough that Iโm satisfied with having to make some alterations or rig a temporary fix until they grow into the full size! - I knew it didnโt have one when I bought it, but I would have liked to have a front clip. Though again! Itโs inexpensive enough that I donโt mind adding a clip. All in all, Iโd definitely buy them again. I recommend this for any dog, but especially dogs with sensitive skin that other collars/harnesses rub the fur off of and owners that donโt mind altering an inexpensive option for a perfect fit.

EcoBark Dog Harness Luxurious Soft Mesh Halter - Over The Head Vest-Small Dogs (Medium, Red)
I have a 14 lb Dachschund/Chihuahau mix (often mistaken for a min-pin. I purchased this harness for him in a medium. His neck measure just at12", his chest is 17", he is 15" long from base of neck to rear end (not the end of tail) and 13" tall. The harness fits well. There is leeway to adjust the strap that goes around his chest/belly to make it smaller or larger---at least an inch either way. The clasp is a little stiff but I assume will become easier in time. Once over his head, you thread the strap under the chest/belly to meet with the clasp on the other side. There is a ring on the topside of the harness (an inch or so from the base of the neck) to clip a leash onto. It was easy to put on over his head and seemed comfortable---I don't think he noticed it was not his usual harness and had no adverse reaction to it or the way it fit. I got a red one which was a nice, vibrant red. Happy with the purchase and would purchase again.

Great solution for "pullers" and even harness hating dogs
This harness solved a major problem for me. My sheltie/corgi mix (Tessie, for your point of reference) is so excited to go on walks that she pulls the color to the point where it seems like she might pass out. "Heeling" her only works for a second until she hears a dog or sees a cat or feels like running, and she starts pulling again. Step in harnesses lacking padding always scared her and made her not want to go for walks, and I assume the fact that they were uncomfortable didn't help. The harness is better in a few ways. One, it's easier to put on and doesn't require step in. Two, it's padded on the top section and if you get the right size not uncomfortable on the loop section. Finally, for whatever reason she doesn't pull when in this like she has in every other collar (out of happiness) or harness (out of horror) option. My guess is that because the front section rests at the bottom of the dog's chest near the legs, it gives them kind of a mental queue to slow down if they feel pressure near their legs right at the moment they are walking forward. In a collar they are not getting this queue until their legs already moved forward and feel the pull on the neck. This is more in sync with the walking process, if you follow me. As many others have said, I am glad I measured her. Based on some reviews I thought I might need a large as she is 16 lbs, but after measuring realized she is a medium, and it fits well.

Not all harnesses are the same size. BUYERS BEWARE!
Warning!!!! My dogs are just at 10 lbs and have always worn size small EcoBark harnesses. Mediums are too big for their necks. They have been wearing their current EcoBark harnesses for awhile now so time to replace. I ordered 2. Same size (small), same colors (purple and pink) as the ones they are currently wearing. The purple one arrived yesterday as expected--exactly the same size and design as the one we have, fits perfectly, of course. The pink one, which came today, is NOT the same size nor same design. It has the size S in the tag, but it is super small, like for a 5 lb. dog. The design is different, black trim, little tiny straps and buckles. The two harnesses at the top of pic are the old ones obviously. The two harnesses at bottom are ones I just received. Note how different the NEW pink one looks. It will not fit my mixed chihuahua's neck. The NEW purple one is the EXACT same size as the old harnesses and fits perfectly. So BUY with CAUTION. Or you will have to go through the hassle of returning like me. ;(

Expectations exceeded
I'll be honest, I really didn't have high hopes for this purchase. But, I've been pleasantly surprised! I did measure my pups before purchase and ordered according to the size chart. I have two Papillons, one is 5lbs (5yo), the other 8lbs (17yo). I purchased one orange SM, and one yellow SM--I was surprised the small fit both, but it does, oddly both dogs chest and neck measurements are the same even with the weight disparity. Neither dog has ever worn a harness before and have only worn a collar on the rarest of occasions. They're pretty much strictly indoor or backyard pups. However, we'll be going on a vacation soon, and need to have a way to safely leash and walk with them, and buckle them into car seats. These harnesses slip on VERY easily and are quite simple to buckle around their mid-section, even when contending with a lot of long fur. The buckles appear strong enough and connected together with a satisfying snap. The harnesses are very lightweight, soft, and flexible. Initially, the dogs were somewhat confused, but it only took about 20 minutes for them to acclimate. (there was some rather entertaining bow legged walking initially) I was very pleasantly surprised to find they walk on a leash with the harnesses much better than they did with collars. There's less crossing up with each other, less running around my legs in an attempt to hog tie me. My dogs are both pretty calm and sedentary. They aren't leash pullers or escape artists. Would this harness work for more... athletic... dogs? Maybe, but something sturdier might be a better bet. But for my small, calm pups, these are really quite perfect. Oh, and the colors are gorgeous. Bright, saturated, and fun.

The harness you want and need.
Iโm about to order my 4th EcoBark harness. Iโve purchased this brand over the years for various dogs and am very pleased with this product. First issue is safety. The harness provides a secure comfortable fit with just one heavy duty buckle. Iโve never had a dog slip out of this harness, and itโs quick and easy to suit up and go. The styling is attractive, and there are many colors to choose from. Itโs a few layers thick and the belting is sewn in securely. It always looks clean, and given its durability, I throw it into the washer occasionally and it comes out looking even better. Itโs easy to attach the leash to the heavy duty ring, and Iโve added a light to turn on for walks in the dark. I canโt come up with any cons or negatives. This harness is exactly what I want and need for my precious fur baby.

Worth the money, very cute too. UPDATE... (But not great for Beagle puppy)
I returned a $30 one to the pet store when i got this. Perfect. Update...my beagle puppy went nuts every time I pulled it over her head.. I need a vest type, that doesn't go on like a turtle neck sweater. Probably perfect for older trained dogs. Very cute and great price.

Comfortable and lightweight, worth the price
This was a great buy for our small pekingese mix. It fits her snugly but the fabric is stretchy enough to give her plenty of movement range for running and bouncing. She's very comfortable in it, and it is a whole lot safer than attaching her leash to her collar (avoids choking). Nice durable material.
