This workbook is addressed to beginners in the Greek language. The basic verbs, articles, nouns adjectives, and prepositions and their declination can be found here, along with their explanation in English. With this workbook, every student who speaks English can practice the basic grammar (A1 / A2 level) in modern Greek. The translation from Greek to English is actually an explanation of Greek grammar and in general of the Greek way of thinking, rather than a translation with the literal meaning. That's the reason for which the reader can find several grammar and syntactical inaccuracies in our English "translations". Also contains: several type exercises grammar tables for each chapter explanation of each sentence in English vocabulary answer keys to all exercises Review: good study guide - very good Review: Exactly what I was looking for - Exactly what I needed. Exercises & grammar/verb conjugation tables. Very helpful for how Iโm best able to get my head around reading/writing a new language, especially in an alphabet thatโs new to me.

Great place to start!
Iโm trying to learn a little Greek and this book starts out very slowly with basic information. This is what you need when trying to learn not only another language but a whole new alphabet.

full of errors and poorly organized.
Title says it all. I wonder how is this guys a teacher? I would give this book an โFโ. I am suspecting the author is making his students to buy his books. He has a few books with same problems.

Not for Beginners
This book is totally written in Greek. It covers sentence structure, I think. Being a beginner, I had absolutely NO idea what anything in this book said. Definitely for someone who knows Greek and wants to advance writing skills.

full of errors and badly organized
I bought all the books by Vasilopoulos thinking I could improve my Greek but they've got me really confused. When I read one of the comments saying that there are errors in this one, I showed it to my Greek wife and lo and behold! The book is full of errors! I find the format of the books very amateurish and although that distracts me a little, I am trying to focus on the content. Unfortunately the content isn't good either, I mean there is no structure and there is no good variety. Plus plenty of errors. How are we supposed to learn?

bad layout
Many people speak Greek but not everyone can teach or write a book. Also, the layout is so bad. Very disappointing, I am returning this.

An essential supplementary resource
When I first opened this book, I was a bit sceptical that it was really aimed at beginners. But that was because I got it more or less the day I started to learn Greek. 2-3 months later (and still very much a 'beginner' by any standard), I can now say it's indispensable. I'm using a mix of resources and the exercises in this book work well alongside all of them. None of my other resources offer nearly enough grammar practice, which is where this book comes in.
