Where is this sugar packaged?

According to the package it comes from Mauritus which has a lava influence in the soil. That gives this sugar a somewhat smoky flavor. It's not as sweet as white sugar or brown sugar which doesn't have the molasses removed.

Hi, love this sugar, but even wrapped in a plastic bag, it gets hard so quickly. Suggestions??

When sugar gets hard, it means that it has dried out too much. We have found that if you use a "Brown Sugar Bear", which is made from specially fired clay (food safe and reusable), it works wonders. They sell for $7 on Amazon. To use it - soak it in water for 20-minutes, then place in the same container with the brown sugar.

What Are The Benefits Of Using This Product?

The flavor is richer and product you are making is more moist. I have used both and asked family members to taste test. The Muscovada Dark sugar won out every time.

The package indicates it is nonGMO, but does not indicate gluten free.

This is the best tasting sugar I have had the pleasure of experiencing. It's a very healthy choice too, being mineral rich. People say it has a molasses taste. Yes, but not like a black strap. It is the subtle taste of fresh unrefined natural molasses. Since heating your 'local honey' destroys its unique, subtle micro-nutrients this sugar is a good replacement, if you are inclined to use honey in cooking recipes or for heated beverages. Be cautious. We must be careful to not overindulge in sugar consumption so, self-control is wise.

This is my favorite sugar for my iced coffees! It’s like granulated molasses with a hint more sweetness. It dissolves very quickly in my cold coffee with cream with just a little stirring. I do recommend getting one of those little terracotta brown sugar keepers so it will stay moist and granulated in the fridge.
