This comes in a presentable grey-coloured all-metal case that although t is surprisingly lighter than I expected, it still feels like a quality addition. It comes with the integrated USB-C cable to connect o your pc/laptop, and is a bit longer than others I have used (although I would have liked it still be 20-30cm longer for my purposes). The base has some rubber grips which help with stability and lack of movement. All of the appropriate ports are on the back (HDMIx2, USB, lan etc), with the front ports are ones that you are more likely to use more often and therefore need constant access to, which proved to be the case when testing this. The 2 HDMIS ports worked as expected with my Windows laptop, allowing me to be able to use 3 screens rather than the one. With my MacBook, due to its limitations, only one screen can be used to extend the desktop, which is a bit of a shame for macOS use. The other ports however can be used to the full, with up to 5gbps transfer depending on the different USB ports and external hard drives attached. The only downside I came across, and not sure why, is that it wouldn’t recognise my external keyboard and mouse when I attached it to the USB-3 ports. I used the same keyboard and mouse with other USB docks and never had a problem using them, so honestly don’t know what went wrong here. Overall, a sleek, quality & portable USB dock that has plenty of options and flexibility to it.

This Plugable 11-in-1 USB-C Hub is awesome! It’s a 100W USB-C Pass-through, Laptop Docking Station. It has Dual Monitor with 4K 60Hz HDMI. It had 1 x USB C, 3 USB, an SD slot and Ethernet. I’m really impressed at what this can do! There’s no loss of data and the transfer speeds are great. The design is sleek and the colour is a nice grey with a satin finish. It’s quite long but it does fit in my laptop bag so the length is not an issue. This hub does everything and it does it very well. It’s a great price for all of its capabilities too. The performance is solid. The build quality is solid. It would be better if it had a display port so I will give 4 stars. It’s a great hub though and I would highly recommend.

This USB Hub from Plugable is a plug-in-and-play USB-C hub that has a range of inputs. It features 3x USB-A 3.0 ports (5 Gbps), 1x USB-C 3.0 port (5 Gbps) separate Micro SD and SD Card readers (both can be used at a time), 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, 1x 3.5mm audio output, 1x Gigabit Ethernet Port and a USB-C Power Delivery 100 watts (92 watts to your laptop) pass-thru port for charging your laptop. As suspected, the hub is recognised as a USB 3.0 hub device with 5 Gbps bandwidth on my Mac, it is not a Thunderbolt hub as the listing (and other reviewers) would try to have you believe by calling it ‘Thunderbolt compatible’. Because of this, the total throughput bandwidth is limited & compromises are made to ensure compatibility, however the hub was able to deliver a single 4K 60Hz signal to my TV from my M1 MacBook through its HDMI 1 port which is good. Unfortunately the dock does not work with dual displays on Mac, only on Windows. Multi-display output is partially supported on Mac where you can only use mirror mode. The cable length is a bit longer than your average USB-C hub - but the whole unit is unnecessarily long and will take up a bit of space in a laptop bag. The casing looks like it’s made with metal but it is actually plastic which I think is a drawback especially at this price as it’s less durable, and doesn’t allow it to dissipate heat as efficiently, especially as it’s delivering up to 100 watts with its USB-C power delivery pass-thru. The space grey colour matches nicely with my Macbook Air and the USB-C plug sits very close to flush so it fits Macbook aesthetics if that’s important to you. The hub is bus powered so it does not require external power to function, but with a power adaptor plugged in for charging pass thru it will be able to power external devices connected to it as well. With almost everything plugged in including a power adaptor, the hub does get warm but not too hot. After running a few data tests, I didn’t notice any significant speed decrease when using this hub with my external SSD’s and SD Cards. My MacBook also recognised the hub as a USB audio device output, so getting sound out to my headphones was easy. Overall, if you’re looking to run multiple displays longterm you should be looking at Thunderbolt docking stations, but put simply this is a basic hub which for light workloads and the odd requirement for connecting multiple displays on Windows it should be sufficient. If you have a modern Windows or Mac laptop with mainly USB-C ports, or high quality support for additional external displays, this is a near-ideal device. The manufacturer describes is a hub with the capabilities of a docking station, and that seems close to the mark, especially considering that it carries power as well as supporting external devices. I tested it mainly with a MacBook Pro and successfully used most of the 11 ports available including a USB dongle for a wireless mouse, audio, charging, USB storage and more. I also had success charging the MacBook via an USB-C charger plugged into the charging port on the hub. The hub does get slightly warm but I like that it has small rubber feet that must improve cooling, by making a bit of space below the device, as well as giving it a bit of grip on the surface of the desk. There is support for SD and MicroSD cards which is handy, but note that there is only one USB-C port that you can use for connecting devices. So if you need additional USB-C ports this will not work. One of the good features though is support for two external 4K displays at 60Hz. Whether this works is mainly dependent on the laptop. MacOS only supports one external display via USB-C so if you connect two they will be mirrored. Plugable is a reliable brand and although you can easily find hubs that seem better value I personally think it is worth a bit extra for the quality and support via the web site.

The hub works mostly as intended. The main reason for the purchase was the hub would power the laptop but it doesn't. The laptop cannot change from the power delivery. I've now been using this for 6 months and the power passthrough has never worked. This is a bigger problem than it used to be and I would not recommend this to anyone.

Plugable normally comes with a high-end price to match, but this hub is priced for the onerous financial times; in the USA this would be around $79, but it's still good value in the UK. A silver-grey aluminium enclosure is connected by a USB-C plug and lead with an overall length of around 450mm, so you can use it with a mini-PC as well as with a laptop. It has: 2x 4K 60Hz HDMI ports, 100W USB-C pass-through charging, 1x USB-C, 3x USB-A 3.0 5Gbps, SD and MicroSD slots, 1 GbE RJ45, 3.5mm combined audio and mic port. There are 2 x HDMI ports for monitors. On Windows and Chrome computers, they can feed two screens at up to 4K 60Hz. On Mac, add one extended 4K 60Hz display or two mirrored displays. Plugable say: compatible with Windows 10 and newer (Thunderbolt 4 or DP 1.4 over USB-C required for 2x 4K60Hz output), macOS 11+, and ChromeOS. Mac computers only support one extended display or two mirrored displays when using this hub. My second monitor has gone to a charity so I couldn't test the screen expansion. Downsides: USB-A rated at 5Gbps and, USBs don't have indication. However, a nice piece of kit that will be destined for a new laptop in the near future.

fter using it for a few weeks, I can honestly say that this is an excellent product for anyone looking for a laptop docking station with plenty of ports and features. This Hub is compatible with Thunderbolt 4/3, USB-C Windows, and Chromebooks, and provides 1x USB-C, 3x USB, SD, and Ethernet ports. With its dual monitor, it supports 4K @ 60Hz HDMI and provides up to 100W of power. Setting up the Hub was a breeze and I was able to easily connect it to my laptop. I'm really impressed with the performance of this Hub. It's incredibly fast and efficient, and I've been able to easily connect multiple devices to the ports without any lag or delay. I also love that it has a slim and lightweight design, making it highly portable and perfect for any workspace.

2023-10-13 Edit: I reached out to plugable support within the warranty period and they shipped me a new device. Updated the review with three more stars for customer support that was professional, efficient and easy to deal with. Original Headline: Pass through charging only worked for 7 months Original Review: I used this dock a handful of times for 4 months after I purchased it, primarily for the pass-through charging since my laptop's power socket stopped working. About three months ago, I started using the dock daily, shortly after which it stopped supporting pass-through charging. Thankfully I fixed my laptop power socket since then. It's still good for data transfer for two monitors, my keyboard, mouse, and another usb peripheral, so it gets a star there. If my laptop power adapter was unplugged, and I relied solely on the dock, my monitors will flicker, then disconnect and reconnect every few seconds, as will my usb peripherals. There's likely thinner wiring in here than what's needed to support its specs, but I don't want to open it up since I still need it for daily use.

As described, arrived very quickly and so far is performing as expected

This docking station didn't actually work right away with my Lenovo IdeaPad laptop and wouldn't automatically connect to my monitor. Plugable customer service was great though and sent me instructions on how to reboot the docking station and it works great now! I use it for both my work and personal laptops with no problems. I much prefer this to the other small docking/hub stations I found on amazon because almost all of the ports are on the back making for a much cleaner look and easier set up. I also like that the usb-c connection to the laptop is longer than most other ones which gives you more flexibility in set up.
