Great for growing mung bean sprouts
I tried doing mung sprouts in a canning jar with a screen lid and they do grow, but it turns out they need to be weighted down to grow long and thick. These trays are working perfectly. Soak a heaping quarter cup of beans in a jar for 12-24 hours, then put some water in the green tray, cover with the white perforated tray, and spread the soaked beans in a thin layer on the white tray. Then cover with all the other trays, put a small towel or 2 draped over that (to keep all light out), and place a couple 32 oz jars of something on the towel to weigh down all the trays. 3 times a day remove all the covers and spray the seeds with a spray bottle filled with water to keep them moist. The jars will make the beans work hard and grow nice and thick as the beans push the covering tray up a couple inches. The towel keeps them white as they get no light. In 3 - 5 days (who can remember) you will see little very light green leaves forming at the top, and that is the time to harvest. Some people cut the roots off from underneath the tray but I just eat them so I pull a handful of sprouts out of the perforated tray and rinse them under water to try to wash as many of the dark seed pod shells down the drain. Then put in a container and do another handful. I get over a quart of beans each time this way. They last in the fridge in a covered container for up to about 10 days. But give them a water bath and pour off all the water every day to keep them fresh. This has worked for me. If this helps you please click helpful so others will see it.

Works well
Works well to plant greens for my chickens.Comes with a cover to keep in moisture and seeds moist.Comes with a pad that you mist but I find that the plants grow into it almost overnight and you have to pull the seedlings out.I would say tweaking how you use it or not using the pad at all would work out better.Product is sturdy and works well, I would say it’s a good value and worth the money.

Love these trays!
I purchased these from several companies and I love these. Some reviews mention the size of the holes are too big, but seeds come in all sizes. I use a damp paper towel for small seeds and you just keep the towel damp. I've found that the holes are too small for thicker roots like sunflower and peas. These trays are a great no-soil method of growing sprouts. The depth of the tray is perfect. I've use this type of tray for years.

It is much larger than appears and it doesn't include grass seed
If this were an actual photo, the cat would be 40#. Maybe in the fine print, the dimensions are given but with that photo (which at closer inspection probably is photoshopped) unlike other "kitty grass" systems, it's far too big to put in the feeding area. And I assumed a package of grass seeds would be included. Wrong

Holes are Too Big... No Instructions to Replace "Paper" Covers...
I ordered these 6 seed sprouting trays specifically due to being advertised as a way to grow cat grass (wheat grass). The holes of the sprouting tray are way too big for this purpose! More than half of my seeds ended up in the bottom water tray. I had to keep emptying out the water tray and trying to get them to stay up on the seed tray. The little squares made it possible for any seed that wasn't already perfectly flat to fall through. Although it doesn't list that the lids are included, it does show them in the product pictures. Even the measurements are included on the picture with the lids. One of my biggest concerns with these seed sprouting trays is concerning the paper meant to cover the seeds during germination. Not only are they not big enough to cover the entire tray, but also how do you replace them when you need to use these trays again? There's no mention in the poorly translated/written instructions as to what this paper is. It's thicker than tissue paper, but thinner than printing/copy paper. I am a huge fan of hydroponic growing, and even think that it could be the fix to end world hunger, but the seeds I put in this tray are not growing as well as what I put in some dirt at the same time.🐻 *Statement/Disclaimer: This review is not a part of Amazon's Vine Program. Disappointed
I am disappointed with the results from trying to sprout micro greens using these- one sunflower seeds the other mung beans. However, the problem could very possibly be with the user…
