High volume on play back. Have the mic on a boom about half a meter away from guitar on 95% recording volume I found this to be the sweet spot for the mic. I'm using Audacity audio software. Well built, complete with a mic mount and dust cover (and carriage screw), this is one really nice looking and nice sounding mic.
