Great and works like a charm. I want to write this review though for a simple reason. Basically this device just like any other bluetooth usb adapter will suffer from interference from USB3 devices. I had no idea this was possible or existed but it does. Google the subject and you will get confirmation. It took me a long time to work this out and there isn't that much knowledge on this subject it seems so I thought its really worth confirming this here for others. What this means is that if you plug this adapter into the front of your computer and next to it have a usb3 socket and then sometimes plug something into that which works at usb3 speed (say just a simple usb flash memory stick) you will probably find that your devices powered by this usb bluetooth adapter suddenly degrade massively in performance. I use my adapter solely now for a quality MS mouse and it works 100% of the time until I plug a usb3 flash stick in next door to it. This problem is worst when the usb3 device is very close to the source transmitter of your bluetooth signal (ie this device). If you have a few ports on the front of a PC case or next to each other on a laptop obviosuly the problem is as worse as it can be as the devices are right next to each other. To get around the problem and to carry on using my fast usb3 flash stick without making my mouse inoperable I purchased a usb extension cable and now plug my bluetooth adapter into the end of that, about a meter away from the location on the front of the PC hidden behind my monitor where it used to reside. So to confirm, if you have this problem, the cause is an inherent issue between USB3 and bluetooth. Leave a comment why not if this helped you!

Having experienced a couple of Class 2 devices which lost connection with just my hand or a coffee table in the way, it was great to find this device can easily go effortlessly through an internal brick wall. I don't think this is clear enough in the device description, but the Broadcom chip set is Class 2. I also found that I can connect to all my BT devices, phone, Palm PDA and Bluetooth audio adapter. Not the case with my previous dongles. The software was slightly problematic. I had forgotten that with the Widcom/Broadcom stack you must not plug in the dongle to start with or even when asked, which results in the dongle not being detectable by the software. Despite this Windows XP was perfectly happy, recognising the device in Device Manager and reporting no problems. So I had to remove the sofware and re-install, plugging the dongle in when it had all finished. Windows then completed the process and all was well. Its about time Broadcom updated the manual to reflect this problem, which has been around for years. Incidently I had downloaded the latest update from the Broadcom website, but found it impossible to use this at the outset, because it expected the dongle to be installed already. So I used the version 5.6.0.7700 on the supplied CD. I am still on this which surprisingly is a bit clunky, so should perhaps upgrade. However not knowing what the latest version is like puts me off. However this issue shouldn't put anyone off the device which always has a good solid connection to many devices.

Good delivery as expected. Bought specifically to add bluetooth to a fresh linux installation (Zorin) so I can use a BT mouse. The installation to get the mouse working took a bit of fiddling with Linux but got there in the end. The Kinvio seems to work as well as I had hoped.

I have had bluetooth trouble on my 2015 iMac for ages first it worked intermittently then in packed up completely. Showing bluetooth not available and no bluetooth shown in system preferences. I avoided using an adapter for ages due to people reporting problems with on Mac's and if you search you find loads of people with the same problem. But this little device has done something Apple couldn't, giving fully functional bluetooth. It didn't come with much in the way of instructions just a little booklet, but it was precise and not much instruction needed. Didn't need any software or drivers just plug in and it immediately found and connected my trackpad. It also stays on when iMac goes to sleep so no problem waking from sleep and connection has been solid. It has a small flashing blue light to show it's working. I highly recommend the Kinivo BTD-400

Never tested on Windows/Mac as not interested in that. I purchased this for the purpose of getting my bluetooth aukey earphones working with Teams and Zoom on Ubuntu 22.04. Simple plug and play for Ubuntu(?). Well ubuntu 22.04 found the adapter without issue. Connecting my earphones to it - no problem. I had to go in and change the sound setting to be aukey for speakers and mic. first test: played iplayer thru firefox - no sound. even though the sound bar was telling me that sound was being played by iplayed I could not hear it. Played around with all the sounds setting - yes the test worked I could hear the drip/bark test sound. iplayer nope. 2rd test - the self test with TEAMS. - could not get to hear the self test and mic never recorded anything. checked in the sounds tab in ubuntu - I could hear the drip/bark etc 3rd test - tried zoom. setup a meeting with my iphone as the other user. Could never hear any sound from the aukey earphones and mic sound was not heard on my iphone. - checked the sounds tab in ubuntu - I could hear the drip/bark etc 4th test - played a movie thru vlc. Had to select correct source on vlc - this worked Summary - never got the mic to work. Only got the sound to work with vlc and not zoom or teams. I repeated the above tests with another set of bluetooth earphones and got the same results. So it wasnt the earphones. I did not test the file transfer. I did get it to pair with an iphone/ipad but did no more testing than that. For my needs - this bluetooth dongle fails. I returned it and purchased a usb headphone.

Well packaged, a good price and works exactly as it should.

As ive a few mbl phones i don't use any more > I just wanted all the picis off em basically it just would'nt let me pull all my photo files over kept asking me for a matching code to make the connection between me mobil phones the blue tooth divice on my p/c ive had other blue tooth divices which i never had any bother with when trying to just transfer files from my phone to my p/c but with the Kinivo BTD-400 Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy USB Adapter - For Windows 8 /... Basically spent all evening forcing it to work i just managed to some how force a few files over to my p/c this blue tooth comes with very little instruction how to use the divice only tells you how to install the drivers , As new person to that isn't some big p/c & mbl phone buff user instructions would be useful & helpfall with this product so ive had to go out n buy another that is more user friendly> shame after paying out for this I was looking forward to this blue tooth actually functioning properly basically just could nt get it to work & im dammed if im gonna be for hours & hours searching the internet just to get the thing to work

First up, the install guide for Windows 7 didn't work for my Compaq laptop. It said to stop windows from installing the default bluetooth drivers and download them from the broadcom website. This didn't work for me as the broadcom install said the bluetooth stack could not be initialised. So I did this: Plugged in the adapter Let windows install default drivers Downloaded Broadcom drivers and installed Hey Presto, all working fine. Now I haven't any devices which need Bluetooth 4.0, or 3.0 to be honest, but the devices I do have all connect to this without incident and more importantly, re-connect when switched on without me having to re-pair, something I have had to do with another bluetooth adapter in the past. Range is what I would expect, in the same room just fine, through walls or more than a few metres and things start to drop out but I guess it all depends on what you are connecting to and line of sight. For me, does just what I need. Great little device.

Te duur voor wat het maar is. Kocht daarna een bluetooth dongle van €15 en die werkt even goed, ook onder linux.

Nach 4 Versuchen (Hama, CSL, ...) nun endlich ein Dongle, der Folgendes auf Anhieb macht: - einstecken in Windows 8.1 PC und selbstständige Installation (Bluetooth Icon erscheint in der Taskleiste) - Koppeln mit Dualshock 4 Controller klappt problemlos (PS Button und Share-Button gedrückt halten, bis Controller weiß blinkt) - das DS4Tool 1.2.2 erkennt den Controller sofort. yay. Endlich gediegen vom Sofa über PC und Beamer daddeln!

Su PC, ho connesso mouse e tastiera bluetooth in un baleno. Purtroppo, a me serve sul nas, un Qnap tvs-673: ebbene, funziona con l'audio, ma non con mouse e tastiera. Questo perché Qnap non supporta l'emulazione HID bluetooth via software. Pertanto, il prodotto è validissimo se collegato a un dispositivo con supporto al bluetooth via HID. Ottimo come sempre il servizio Amazon.

This Bluetooth Adapter was immediately detected on my Linux systems that did not have internal Bluetooth. Works perfectly with peripherals. I like it.
