Can I use this on a freshly planted hydrangea and do I mix it with water? I planted it 3 weeks ago and it’s going well so far

I am no more than an enthusiastic amateur gardener so do not think my answer is based on any more than experience! I’d have thought that whether to feed now depends on the medium into which you planted your hydrangea (compost in a container; enriched soil; unenriched soil - sandy, loamy, or clay). If it has had some food, I’d leave it for this year since it’s already August and the growing season is coming to end. Start then with food in the Spring. And if it has had no food, I’d scatter some of the pellets (a small handful) round the base of the plant, fork it into the surface of the soil, and then water it in well. And then leave it until next Spring. But whatever you do, don’t relax on watering it! It’ll be trying hard to establish itself for at least a year so even next Spring make sure it doesn’t dry out completely. That’s what I’d do. But I can’t promise at all that it’s the same as an expert would tell you! All the best - and much pleasure.

Hi, will this keep blue hydrangea from changing colour

Hydrangeas most often turn from red to blue, rarely the other way round. It would have to soil with very high alkalinity to retain the red colour. Blue hydrangeas are due to high acidity. The feed only helps with health and number of blooms, and, from my experience not the colour. Hope this helps

Hi. what's the npk of this feed, please?

Compound fertiliser containing 10% nitrogen, 7.5% phosphorus pentoxide, 10.2% potassium oxide with 3.0% magnesium oxide and 1% iron.

Will this work on blue grass plants? My blue grass plants are barely blue any more

Sorry to say I have no idea. Interesting question I have a similar problem.

It Works very well will buy again.

Well I put this powder in and around a large Hydrangea I've had for 25 years and Bang its exploded with blooms and the whole bush now looks extremely healthier than it's ever done very happy with product.

A must for your hydrangeas!!

I was recommended this by @garden_with_tom on Instagram in a last attempt effort to save my beautiful hydrangeas. What with the variety of weathers I thought they’d gone beyond saving but this powder has produced literally tens of new sprouts and shoots in every stem. It’s incredible. This is my first proper year gardening in my first home after 3 years of renovations so I am THRILLED to be able to see my garden flourish. Will be trying more from the Vitax range ASAP!💐💐💐

Amazing feed

Amazing feed! My plants came on a treat with this stuff. Feed every 6 weeks and your plants will look amazing. Can't believe how big the leaves went. Flower heads went huge and colourful. Would definitely recommend.
