Rock solid ukulele for an affordable price
Before purchasing this Lanikai ukulele, I had played around on my son's Fender uke for a month and a half. I wanted something a little bigger for my adult sized hands, and this combination of the concert size and the slightly roomier neck on the Lanikai was just what I needed. I swapped out the stock strings, which were decent enough, for a set of Low-G tuned Aquila Reds, which not only look good with the mahogany wood, but also give a nice rich sound. I find that the tuners do a pretty good job of keeping things where they should be without having to retune the instrument daily. I'm also happy with the frets on the neck. Some manufacturers leave rough, almost sharp, edges on the frets on their less expensive models. I really dislike that. The Lanikai is not like that at all. The fit and finish is very fine. I've been playing the MAC daily for months now. I'm not sure exactly how this would be, but I swear that the sustain on the Lanikai is constantly improving over time. I don't know if the strings are adjusting or if it is the body of the uke itself, but this thing keeps getting better and better as I play it. Considering the relative low cost and high quality of the Lanikai MAC, I wonder just how much better a much more expansive instrument would be. I doubt I'll find that out very soon, though, since I love the one I have already...

Nice affordable instrument.
I learned to play on a Lanikai soprano uke. As I have gotten better, I wanted to get a better instrument. The concert uke is slightly larger that the soprano and has a very nice sound when you put Nylagut strings on it. The larger size has made fingerpicking much easier - it has a longer and wider neck (15 frets) than the soprano. The finish on the instrument is lovely. It has smooth tuning gears and nice action - no string buzz.

Great ukulele for beginner and more experienced player.
Generally well built and sounds quiet decent. If I could do the purchase again I would probably go with a tenor size ukulele however I can play this concert size just fine. The only issue I had was; the action for the third string wasn’t adjusted properly and that string was sitting higher than the rest. I filed the groove on the nut slightly and it is good now.

Tuning pegs keep slipping
One of the tuning pegs keeps slipping and is unable to hold the string in place. Seems like a manufacturing defect. Quite disappointed with the quality for the price I paid.

Kanakas is Quality you will feel and hear in years to come!
It has an awesome full sound and holds its tune really well. I already have have a for 12 years. Played it next to a $2000 Uke in Lahaina and both me n the owner couldn’t tell any difference in tone. Great instrument n gig bag for the $ you can’t beat it. 😍😜🙋♀️

Still not sure
This Uke looks good but the sound is thin. The C string is "muddy" Made in China? not listed in description.

What's not to like? It's simple but elegant, and fun to play with. I'm a beginner yet it feels like a pro playing with this instrument. I still readjust the tuners everytime because it's new, so I hope it will tune out beautifully but longer in the long run.
