It really does work. Restored the silver plating that had rubbed down to brass.
I wasn't sure this would really work and was very pleasantly surprised when it did. I'm a bit of a magpie and have loads of cheap shiny glass tennis bracelets and rings where the silver plating has worn off and the base metal below was showing through. I followed the instructions, cleaned everything with a toothbrush and hot soapy water, dried it and then rubbed on the grey liquid from the well shaken bottle. I'd thought it would take a lot of rubbing but I just applied a thick coating, wandered off to do other stuff, and when I returned to rub the items they'd all turned silver again. Like magic. It even gave a whole new lease of life to a ring my mum bought in the 1960s where nearly all the silver plating had worn away. That too is shiny and silver looking. Don't know how long the new coating will last, but it was a doddle to do so I don't mind having to repeat the process.

Works for an improvement for display
Nothing straight out the bottle will do a permanent job but provides an improved look for display pieces.

Well impressed
To say I'm well impress with this product is an understatement, I bought it after one of my favourite earrings was left in a Milton solution and turned black. In the first few minutes of using the product I thought it wasn't going to work, the instructions do say it only works on certains metals and I don't know what the earrings are made of. However it started coming through and I soon had an earring nearly as shiny as its twin (see pics, left is the work in progress when I realised it seemed to be working. It was way worse to start with. Right is with the other earring that wasn't tarnished) It was fairly easy to use, took about 45 minutes to get from black to shiny silver, and not as messy as I feared. I used vinyl gloves and the product didn't seem to stick to them, so that was great to not smear it all over the place. Highly recommend!

Great idea ... but ...
Hmmm ... well ... it doesn't last too well at all. It goes on really quickly and buffs up well so I had great hopes. I used it on ring I wear for arthritis as I didn't like the copper showing through the silver. It started rubbing off very quickly. I feel it might be great for ornaments and display items but not good for rings that are on hands always busy and in and out of water. Shame.

Works well, Silver plating over copper/ brass handmade pendant
I made a reticulated heart pendant but at the final stage my pickling mix got contaminated and it turned brass from copper, so I thought I'd try this to silver plate it. I only really gave it one coat but it looks amazing now, it went from mottled coppery brass to shiny silver. Picture doesn't really show that well but all good, I just need to try and get in the crevices for a really good cover.

Makes a difference, but not a good one
I thought I'd try this stuff before sending my sentimentally valuable bracelet somewhere to be tree-plated. So I patiently applied, rubbed and buffed a full 100ml bottle onto a worn silver plated bracelet over the course of various evenings. I persevered because it appeared to be making some difference after the first few applications. In my opinion, the bracelet actually looked worse by the time I'd finished. With a dark border having appeared between the remaining silver plate and the underlying alloy. I'd hoped the buffing would slowly turn the darker part shiny. Sally not. Guess you get what you pay for. Don't waste your money and just buy a silver cloth to polish whatever silver plate is left on your items. Don't expect any new silver to magically appear.

Extraordinary product
I used this to re-plate the brass base of a trophy where some of the original silver had been stripped away while removing an old engraving. I was deeply skeptical that there was an alternative to electroplating, and assumed this would be a scam product I would have to return. I was amazed that it worked perfectly and very easily, producing a shiny silver surface in seconds. As described, the product initially blackens, and then the silver adheres to the metal as you keep rubbing. It is kind of miraculous. Shake the bottle well before use, I think the silver is in suspension somehow, and definitely wear gloves.

Happy
Just what I ordered

It actually works on copper
It works on pure copper. Not sure how durable it is because what I tried to plate wasnt pure enough copper. It did work on a copper coin.

Works great, and gave a pretty good result.
The product works really well, it gives a nice finish. The plating is quite shallow, but it does take on multiple coats to build up the plating thickness. One key step though is preparation, you do have to use it on well polished, and absolutely free of any contaminants surfaces, grease or dirt. It’s the rubbing action that deposits the silver so a good amount of rubbing is mandatory. And you want to wear gloves.

This works!
Wow! I was not expecting such a great result. This product is amazing! I have used it on tarnished silver-plated vintage jewelry with amazing success. I cannot speak to the longevity of the finish as yet, but so far, so good. This does exactly what it says on the bottle. See the image - before and after. I love good chemistry!
