The NEEWER 9.8”/25cm Adjustable Magic Arm is honestly one of the best accessories I’ve added to my photography and video setup. The build quality is solid and feels premium no wobbling, no slipping, and the joints lock down tight exactly where you want them. It’s extremely versatile, too. The adjustability is smooth and allows for precise positioning, which is a lifesaver during shoots. The clamps are strong, the tightening knobs feel durable, and overall it gives you that professional, reliable feel you want on set. For the price, the performance is unbeatable. I am extremely impressed with the quality and performance of the NEEWER 9.8" Adjustable Magic Arm and Super Clamp set. This piece of equipment is an absolute workhorse. The build quality is immediately apparent: it's made from genuinely good quality metal and feels incredibly sturdy. It's engineered to work hard, and it shows. Functionally, it works very well. The key feature is the Super Clamp, which clamps tight and provides a secure grip on anything from light stands to desk edges. Once you lock the magic arm in place, it doesn't move around—the ball joints hold their position perfectly, even with heavy accessories attached. With 1/4" and 3/8" threads, it's incredibly versatile for mounting monitors, lights, and cameras. If you need reliable, dependable support that won't sag or shift mid-shoot, look no further. Highly recommended!

The process of finding something to hold my extremely lightweight 10.3” e-ink monitor was a surprising challenge. It’s equipped with 50mm VESA mount holes, but very few VESA products are actually that size, so we drilled some holes in a thick piece of plastic to make a 50mm-VESA-to-camera-screw-hole “adapter,” which fits this mount perfectly. I was originally using a phone stand arm clamped to a nearby shelf, but the look was really messy and bulky, the tablet clamp came over the edges of my screen, which was distracting, and it wasn’t stable at all, drooping under <2lbs’ strain, particularly when clipped to a vertical surface. I needed something different when I switched everything to pole-mount (dealing with a small space here!). This mount arm is fantastic. It holds my monitor perfectly without getting in the way at all, and it’s significantly less expensive than many much worse tablet holders on the market (or I guess, “things that can hold tablets if you set your mind to it”s). It’s so small & lightweight that you wouldn’t expect it to be so sturdy, but it could easily hold much more weight than I’m asking it to. It has “teeth” at the joints to prevent it from drooping, which isn’t something I’ve seen before. That addition makes it feel really stable, but because it needs to be loosened in order to readjust, quick adjustments are harder to make. But once it’s tightened into the right position, the ball head has just the right amount of tolerance to tilt around based on my viewing angle without having to unscrew anything. It will not move at all if it’s not being actively adjusted — aka, zero potential of slump/droop. The pole mount c-clamp is great — strong and versatile. The jaws open wide enough to handle anything from a tripod leg to a thick countertop or railing, and screws shut all the way. Note: I don’t believe the tips of the c-clamp come pre-padded, so if you are planning to clamp this to a wooden surface, you may want to stick a washcloth or foam in between. Then again, you don’t have to tighten it too much to get it to stay put. In spite of my unconventional use-case, I’m very impressed with this mount overall, and it looks much cleaner than my last one. I would 100% purchase another if I wanted to mount my Blue Yeti Nano mic or my phone (…of course now that I’m thinking of it, I’m tempted to do the latter if I can find a MagSafe phone holder with a universal camera screw!) Highly recommend.

The quality machining and robust feel give full confidence in its durability for professional use. The accompanying Super Clamp is equally dependable, providing a vise-like grip on various supports. In terms of positioning, the arm is incredibly flexible. The 9.8 inches of length, coupled with the two 360-degree ball heads and the center elbow joint, grants an exceptional range of motion. This versatility allows you to achieve precise positioning in complex setups or very tight spaces where traditional light stands simply won't fit. However, the arm’s biggest shortcoming lies in its single-knob locking mechanism. While the concept of a "one-knob-locks-all" system sounds efficient, it proved to be a major frustration in practical use. The central issue is that you cannot lock the two 360-degree ball heads independently. Turning the single knob simultaneously loosens or tightens all three articulation points—the center elbow and both end ball heads. This means you are forced to adjust all three axes at once. If you've perfectly set the angle of one ball head but need to slightly adjust the other, you must loosen the entire arm, risk shifting your first perfect angle, make your small change, and then attempt to re-lock everything at maximum torque. This process often leads to frustrating trial-and-error, as achieving that final, secure lock requires significant force, which can inadvertently shift the precise positioning of the unlocked ball heads just before they grip. Final Verdict: The NEEWER Magic Arm delivers on its promise of superior build quality and exceptional flexibility. It is tough and dependable. However, the fundamental design flaw of the non-independent locking mechanism is a significant drawback. If your workflow requires frequent, minute adjustments to a single axis, this arm's locking system will challenge your patience. It's a great choice for positions you plan to set and forget, but for demanding, dynamic adjustments, be prepared for some frustration.

Bought this for a 13 in iPad to use with a holder for use onto a hand grip in a campervan. Works well for my application to hold the ipad in front of me for watching movies, or YouTube while sitting in the cab. Great quality.

I honestly use this for every shoot that I do in my studio, I have 2/3 on the go everytime. The ease of clamping it to a table or stand, and then positioning a small light/ camera monitor/ bounce or negative, the options are endless. If you don’t own at least 1 of these, then quit playing and order it asap 👌🏻
