ACME Whistle Thunderer No. 58.5

Rugby ref used for years - absolutely cracking whistle. Never let me down!

A bit expensive but you certainly get what you pay for. Nice and study and more than loud enough for the job!

This might be one of the best whistles I've used yet! I'd always wanted something with a deeper tone and something that was crafted really well, this is it. Beats any of the other whistles I've got!

It's a good whistle, It's nice and loud. I would have preferred a higher pitch but hey it does the trick (recalling my dog). I will probably buy another one that's higher pitch at some point.

The Acme Thunderer whistle – large, is a mighty fine whistle! On a recent TV train journey Michael Portillo visited the Birmingham factory of J Hudson & Co – now known as Acme Whistles – and watched these whistles being made. The love and attention that went into their production made me want one – although I don't have a serious need for one other than as a bit of fun. I'm really glad I bought one as it is a genuinely lovely thing – British engineering and manufacturing at it's best! Whatever your need I'm sure you will not be disappointed with an Acme whistle.

The Acme Thunderer is legendary for a reason. It is great for getting the attention of the children on a Sunday morning, whatever the weather. I have it on an England Rugby lanyard which is quite long, so I have to be careful that the whistle doesn't hit a child in the face when bending down. Will probably pair it with a wrist lanyard soon!

this is called a stop whistle and used when you want your dog to stop at a distance - good for gundogs. I have not yet trained my collie to stop so will not write any more comments. It worked really well with my spaniels.

This is a classic whistle, good heft and great sound. Worth every penny.

He tenido varios pitos, desde que empecé a entrenar y arbitrar algún partido de Rugby. Mis primeras opciones fueron los de plástico barato, luego utilicé uno de metal bastante barato y por último he venido utilizando un Fox 40 (de los que no llevan bolita dentro) que me ha dado buenos resultados, pero sin llegar al sonido y sensación constructiva de este ACME, que me ha sorprendido muchísimo. El silbato está construido en latón muy solido y muy bien acabado, se nota el peso y la solidez de un producto muy bien construido, el sonido es fuerte y nítido. Si duda será un silbato que me durará muchísimo, vale mucho la pena por el precio su compra.
