Review: Excellent Microwave Plate for Fish and Bacon - Interesting, I purchased this with a view to cooking bacon in the microwave (it did come up in the search for microwaving bacon). When I looked at the instructions that came with it they said not to be used with fatty foods such as bacon. Hmm, anyway as we buy lean cut bacon I thought I would give it ago - perfect. There was no distortion of the plate or rack and the bacon was cooked in about a minute - no spitting cooking oil/fat and no frying pan to clean, just a quick wash in hot water. As to cooking fish, I tried small salmon steaks (I'm not that rich) and they were perfect in about a minute, still soft and flaky, without too much fishy smell lingering about for hours. I'm really pleased with this purchase and would recommend it. Review: Good size for an individual serving - The build quality of this is very good and up to the standard of other products in this range. Probably the best quality microwave cookware I have owned. This plate fits just nicely in my microwave and is about as large as I would want to put on the turntable without the risk of catching. The slotted insert is good for draining excess liquids or for putting a little water in for a steam effect. I mainly use this plate for reheating meals and I find by putting a small amount of water in the bottom it really helps stop the veggies from drying out and the gravy from turning to rubber where it has coated the food. I am sure you could use this plate for lots of different things but for me the ability to reheat my Sunday dinner is all I need it for. ## Features - Dishwasher safe - Dimension: 20,8 x 20,8 x 5,1 cm - Material: Plastic ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B005D6Y16K | | Best Sellers Rank | 2,608,533 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) 9,511 in Containers | | Brand | Sistema | | Capacity | 1.3 litres | | Closure Type | Snap | | Closure type | Snap | | Colour | Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 4,494 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00735343844904, 09414202011060 | | Is the item dishwasher safe? | Yes | | Is the item microwaveable? | Yes | | Item Package Quantity | 1 | | Item Volume | 1.3 Litres | | Item Weight | 287 Grams | | Lid Material | Plastic | | Manufacturer | Sistema Plastics | | Material | Plastic | | Other Special Features of the Product | Detachable lid^Freezer proof^Microwave proof^Stackable | | Product Care Instructions | Dishwasher Safe, Refrigerator Safe | | Size | 1.3 L | | Special feature | Detachable lid^Freezer proof^Microwave proof^Stackable | | UPC | 786173405087 789542455485 735343844904 | | Unit Count | 1.0 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Sistema - **Capacity:** 1.3 litres - **Colour:** Red - **Material:** Plastic - **Special feature:** Detachable lid^Freezer proof^Microwave proof^Stackable ## Images ![Sistema Microwave Large Plate, 1.3 L, Microwave Container, BPA-Free, Red/Clear - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71ONLdch7NL.jpg) ![Sistema Microwave Large Plate, 1.3 L, Microwave Container, BPA-Free, Red/Clear - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81XApVtSiQL.jpg) ![Sistema Microwave Large Plate, 1.3 L, Microwave Container, BPA-Free, Red/Clear - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/812pn6GCToL.jpg) ![Sistema Microwave Large Plate, 1.3 L, Microwave Container, BPA-Free, Red/Clear - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81ERzu3AZPL.jpg) ![Sistema Microwave Large Plate, 1.3 L, Microwave Container, BPA-Free, Red/Clear - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/811pgs-IPLL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Pattern, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Hi because i forgot to ask you can i also use it to grill food? can you let me no later today because i would like to buy later this evening.** A: No you can NOT use it to grill food. You can use it in a microwave NOT in a regular oven, John **Q: Can somebody please tell me the exact diagonal measurements of the large 1.3l plate, so i can check if it will rotate in my microwave? thank you.** A: Hi, Corner to corner, lid on, measures exactly 28cms. The corners of the lid protrude a little. I measured from the edge of the corner of the lid to its diagonal opposite corner. Hope that is helpful. **Q: Can you reheat things like rice and chicken?** A: Yes, it's great for re-heating or cooking any food. A little water under the slotted plate (steaming tray) stops anything drying out. Only problem with rice could be that some of the grains fall down between the slots of the steaming tray. There are instructions included. **Q: will this keep food hot for transporting?** A: Definitely not. Only for reheating food in a microwave at the end of your journey & you'd have to remember to close vent for transportation, then remember to open vent when putting into microwave. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Microwave Plate for Fish and Bacon *by C***R on 20 September 2017* Interesting, I purchased this with a view to cooking bacon in the microwave (it did come up in the search for microwaving bacon). It's nevertheless a good container; it comes with an insert tray for steaming and has locks on all four sides and a venting hole on the cover; I got it for microwaving fish and vegetables, but it's a versatile item and has a good capacity. It's still a useful addition to my kitchen and has been okay so far. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.fr/products/50076407-sistema-microwave-large-plate-1-3-l-microwave-container-bpa](https://www.desertcart.fr/products/50076407-sistema-microwave-large-plate-1-3-l-microwave-container-bpa) --- *Product available on Desertcart France* *Store origin: FR* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
