**Q: Is this gadget worth the money before I buy it or is it just for kids**
A: Save your money, it sucks.

**Q: does it an output like a mini jack connector where I can connect an external recording device?**
A: It operated so poorly, I had returned mine. May want to contact the manufacturer directly.  I opt to say likely not tho given how crappy the whole device was...

A: It's totally legal as those sound wave traveled to your space and so they should make less noise and there would be no problem.

A: No it's not.  It's been a while so I don't remember the specifics but it was poor, I don't believe I have it anymore.  It was likely returned.
