PRO - Quality product of Japan at a reasonable price. Legible dial with good lume for low light viewing. Decent accuracy. Mounts easily on a nylon or rubber watch band. Fluid inside compass nicely controls needle movements. CON - Small diameter of this compass is a mixed blessing. It’s unobtrusive, but a larger diameter would be easier to read.

Review for the watchband compass and initial impressions only so can't speak to longevity... The fit on a semi-tactical style black rubberized just under 1" wide watchband is perfect. There are little sharpish bumps on the underside of the compass case to catch on a watch band without damaging the band and the compass band rubber material holds well on a tactical style watch band at least. The watch compass is rounded so it fits under sleeves and doesn't catch on things and it's small enough to "fit" with the vibe of a tactical or diver style watch. Would be ideal if it were a tad thinner, but it's very livable as is. Driving or hiking with it on my watch, it's perfect for quick checks of direction. Included a nice orienteering instructions sheet as well to help explain basic magnetic declination and use. Great value for what it is. I'm a very happy camper (literally).

I have pretty big doubts this isn’t a real Polaris compass. Not sure why this Amazon listing is linked to them or shares a similar name, in my opinion that is highly misleading! That being said it is cheap, and it does work pretty well. Finish quality for the plastics is alright and the lume does work pretty well. I would rate it higher but I don’t enjoy the misleading branding.

Really like this compass. I have purchased a few lately for several watches. Most as replacements. This one is accuate, colorful and fits nicely. I'd buy again. 😉

I have some Velcro straps hanging around so I threaded one through which lets me attach it to my bike. I bought this to go on my bicycle's handlebar stem but the stem bolt is steel so that didn't work. I then moved it to my aerobars (one advantage to using a Velcro strap) and it works brilliantly. It will also work on an alloy or carbon handlebar if you mount it away from the stem bolt. Orientation does not matter, it just has to be roughly flat. Some reviewers complain it doesn't rotate and that's almost certainly because there is iron nearby. Even attaching it to a watch strap won't work if your watch case is steel. But if you find the right place to put it, it will work great. It is slightly luminous, but only just. Very easy to read, good value for money, accurate. Checks all the boxes.

The silicone case with a continuous loop around the watch band sounded amazing! No more clip ends digging into my wrist, right? Well, it keeps slipping around to be at the bottom of my wrist. I use 20mm NATO woven nylon straps. The width was perfect. It's the height of that loop that sucks. It's rubber, man... make it tight. Back to my good old, 15 yr old BSA clip-on.

I keep it on my watch and it always shows me magnetic north. The exceptions are when I am standing somewhere there are massive electrical currents or strong magnetic fields. Only half of it glows, but that is fine since you can still tell which direction North is. It is a bit thicker than my watch, but my watch is very thin. I like the heavy acrylic cover, and that the dial floats.Even though I don’t go easy on it, it has been durable and has not broken. I expect it to last the rest of my life.

Loses all accuracy if it's anywhere near a piece of metal. I was using it for my motorcycle and it just was completely off. Further the bandwidth slots of course have to match your watch and if you have a sports watch, the band will probably be too big for this and I don't think you'd want to wear it on a dress watch. Good idea but not functional. Can't recommend it.

Great little compass, fits g shock strap well, very clear and does point north, also some complain about only half of the dial ibeing luminous, but this is a very clever design as when the luminescence is low and you cannot read the letters you still know which way is north from the top of the glowing semi circle
