Speed and ease to install were unmatched by the old slotted version!
OMG! I needed these yesterday!!!!! I used the traditional slotted version from WC and that turned into a mess - stripped the threads on the bushing instantly and broke the flat screw slot. With these, that 7/32 socket stabilized the bushing and had my grips put on in under two minutes! Fit is perfect, finished result is beautiful!

The big deal about bushings!
โChallis Grips has gained a very special place in the hearts of 1911 enthusiasts when they went on to design and develop the well respected Challis grip bushings. So whatโs the big deal about bushings? Well, for those that are not familiar with these new design Challis parts, I suggest you jump on the growing band-wagon of long-time 1911 owners who have been trading out their outdated slotted bushings to exchange them for this new and different design. It is not an accessory... It is something that will improves the 1911 experience with better functionality, increased comfort, and ease of use. Yes, it sounds like a lot for a simple grip bushing but itโs something more than that. Brian designed them to be used both on their own, and as a complete package along with a special o-ring geometry that none of the other manufacturers paid attention to before. Used alone or combined with the proprietary o-rings, itโs a complete package that has improved the 100 year old 1911 design. Now combine that with one of the nicest, most generous guys in the industry, and then add his son Nate to the mix, you are guaranteed to have a team that can, and will, solve any issue that you might pass their way. They will go the length that will ultimately make you wish switched years earlier.โ

stainless hex head grip bushings
I really like the look these stainless grip bushings and the fact that they are hex over my original grip bushings that are slotted. It is just a shame they have to get covered up but I really do like this style over the slotted type as far better to install and or remove.

Totally Worth It.
Are they expensive? Yes. Are they worth it? Also yes. If you change grips often or find yourself doing bushing work on a regular basis you will never want to go back to basic bushings after using these. No more stripped slits, soft bushings getting damaged etc. This is one of those little items that really does make working on your 1911 that much easier. They use a 7/32 socket and it's just that simple. Try them. Once you do you will never go back to normal slotted bushings.

The way to go
Absolutely the better of two options. Machined as good as can be. I prefer this set up and it is reliable, unlike the slotted type junk with red thread lock used to secure them from factory. However, the price point is the weak point. This is Wilson Combat money... I hope Bill Wilson is buying your bushings, they are excellent. Keep up the great work.

The thing you donโt think you need until you do.
Grip bushings seem like a simple thing until you want or need to change them out. I went from thin grips on my Dan Wesson to thick buried maple ones and that required new bushings. I mangled the factory ones but these went in easy. Great follow up from the company owner. Would and will buy again.
