Amazon Basics Controller Battery Pack Charger for Xbox One S Console

Absolutely love this for my Xbox One. It saves a lot of time having to search for new batteries (usually right in the middle of a game) and also saves a lot of money and extra trips to the store just to purchase new batteries. The Xbox wireless controllers seem to be a bit battery consuming. This rechargeable battery pack fits easily onto the front USB port of the Xbox One S, even allowing a port to remain open for another USB plugin. It sleekly hugs the side of the Xbox, allowing the box to remain on a shelf or cabinet without needing to move it to access the battery packs. The battery charger takes up very little room. It has a simple status identification light when the packs are placed in the charger - red for battery needing charged/charging and green for completed charge/ready to use. The battery packs themselves seem to last even longer than regular alkaline batteries, at least, that has been my experience. I play several hours each day (maybe 3 to 4 hours) and the charge seems to last typically 3 to 4 days until recharging is required. Very durable and reliable as I have used this product a LOT. Definitely a great purchase and product to have for any casual or serious gamer! Highly recommend!

Like many others, I was disappointed that the Xbox One S controllers were still powered by disposable AA batteries. So, I spent another $25 for the official play/charge kit, and it works great, but this product just completes everything. It will charge my official Xbox battery pack, and comes with two generic battery packs. The battery cover on the controller doesn't fit completely flush with the aftermarket battery packs, and they're 200mA lighter in capacity vs. the Microsoft battery pack, but I really don't notice a difference in battery life, and the cover not sealing completely flush doesn't get in the way of my fingers, nor does the cover fall off or feel loose. The charging base is very small and unobtrusive, fits securely to the console and has a pass-through USB port so that you don't lose that convenient front port. I haven't timed the charging, but it appears to go pretty fast. It's nice having three batteries at one time in rotation and ready to go (one in the controller, two in the charger.) Some reviews mention problems with the spring-loaded locking tabs, but I haven't had any problems with them yet, and I made it a point to go through a few cycles of charging before writing this review. The charger charges the battery packs whether the console is on or not. Green LED = fully charged, red LED = charging, with one light for each of the two charging ports. For the $16 or so that I paid for this, I'm very satisfied. I'd have easily gone through that much in disposable batteries by this time.

This has been a great addition to my XB one S since I’ve been using a stock play amd charge battery pack from microsoft and I needed an added one for the other controller. This came in cheap when I was comparing this to a very similar model from insignia. I trust AmazonBasics as a brand as I had experience with some other electronics from them like keyboards, mouse and so on. So I decided to give this a try and it works just perfect; as described. You could charge two or just one battery in the slot as needed. It charges the batteries even when your console is off (Instant-On mode only) and has bright LED indicators to tell when the charge is completed. Have been using it for months now and its been working great. One thing I noticed is that eventhough the charge light turns green, when tried using it, the console kept reading the battery status as ‘medium’. Didn’t bother me much unless its charging and discharging properly. I noticed that the charge holds good for roughly about 6 hours of gameplay which is good enough for me.

Overall a pretty awesome battery kit. I like how it fits to the front side of the XBox. It conveniently has 2 batteries so when one is charging the other one is available. Also I like the fact that it has a pass through for the USB, I play a game that requires a peripheral and having the front side port open is helpful. Previously I have used both the XBox one plug and charge kit, as well as 2 sets of Amazon Basic Batteries. So why is this a better solution for me than the previous things I have used? Well the xbox Plug and Play kit has 1 flaw that may bother others, and that when you are playing and need to charge you have to plug in the controller. Which in my house means that either my wife or the dog will come in, within the next 5 minutes and trip over the cord. This has no cord, and to recharge you slide the spent battery in the charger and grab the charged one. Why is it better than rechargeable batteries, well simple it will prevent others who have access to the batteries from taking them. Or in other words there is no repurposing the battery pack, where if one needs a AA battery one can always grab the rechargeable and be 1 down in their rotation. So a bit of give and take. The only downside is that for some reason I do not get a low battery warning, so I can be playing a game and the controller dies, though I am not sure if that is the battery or just something I turned off when turning off messages on the XBox.

I love everything about this product, it started getting pricey having to buy batteries every two weeks. So I invested in this kit and have never had to worry about scrounging for new batteries. The USB port works great for charging accessories or even plugging your phone into to get a quick charge. Battery packs on a full charge will last you at least 6-8 hours of game play. My only complaint is the battery is a tight fit to the back of the controller so it does cause some difficulty getting the backing on and off when swapping battery packs.

I bought these 6 years ago but never got around to leaving a review. This simple item is a significant upgrade for the Xbox.

I was really excited to get this item as it looked like a nice unobtrusive rechargeable battery dock. This seems to be of decent quality and the design is fine. HOWEVER, if you were like me and bought an Xbox One S All Digital for a Black Friday deal, it will not fit. As shown in the picture, there is a molded plastic part that is meant to slot into the area with the disc drive. With no disc drive, this doesn’t fit. Seems like a good enough product but it should be listed to show that it isn’t compatible with disc less consoles.

This thing is sweet. Plugs right into the front USB of your Xbox One S. It gives you a USB port right back on the front of the charger. Very space efficient. Fits tightly into its place. It has LED indicators to let you know the status of the battery. Also comes with two batteries which stay hidden in the charger while charging. Has locks to lock both the batteries in place and the charger itself in place. Slide the battery lock back and the battery pops up making it easy to grab. This is probably the coolest charging device I've owned, and I've had at least one for every console for years. Hopefully it last a long time. For now though, I'm a big fan.

Ottimo prodotto. A partire dal design che si integra perfettamente con la console e dall'utilità, siccome permette di usare il controller senza mai attaccare il filo. Inoltre ho potuto constatare che è in grado di ricaricare la batteria originale del play&charge di Microsoft (anche se si fa un pò fatica a bloccarlo nella sede di ricarica, per via delle dimensioni più ridotte) perciò mi ritrovo con 3 batterie completamente funzionanti e ricaricabili in maniera comoda e veloce. Per quanto riguarda la durata delle batterie amazon, vorrei provarle per un pò di tempo prima di dare un giudizio finale, però finora posso solo dire che sono soddisfatto. L'unico appunto che mi sento di fare è riferito alle dimensioni delle batterie amazon, che sono un po' più grosse di quella originale e non permettono la chiusura agile dello sportelletto del controller, anche se, con un po' di attenzione, si può chiudere, dando però l'idea che forzi un po' sulle linguette di chiusura. Prodotto che consiglio a tutti, dagli assidui giocatori a quelli occasionali, visto il costo ridotto a cui si trova.

Another Well priced Alternative from Amazon Basics. Well designed to fit neatly on the side of the Xbox one S (disc drive version). Two decent rated batteries with more MaH than the Microsoft branded versions. Batteries are a little tight when fitting them into the remote but do go in. Only issue could be if your Xbox is inside a cabinet shelf. Check you have clearance to put them into the charging bracket as you insert from the top. Very happy with price and performance so far.

Neat design, long-lasting batteries, efficient charging and all for a rather low price. Definite win-win in my book! PS- I use it with my Xbox one S (1TB edition)

This charger is great, it comes with two decent Amazon batteries and as a bonus it also charges the official Microsoft batteries which is a huge plus for me as charging them in the controller is always a bit finicky for me. I'd you need a better way to charge the official pack and want some extra batteries this is a no brainer

Encaja a la perfección estéticamente tanto en vertical como horizontal, puertos usb adicionales, buenísima duración de las baterías que me aguantan 4 días a una media de 10-12 horas semanales, dos juegos de baterías para 2 mandos o para asegurarte el reemplazo inmediato cuando se agotan. Después de unos cuantos meses de uso sigo satisfecho y certifico su buen funcionamiento con uso moderado y buen cuidado (sin dejar las baterías perennes cuando quedaron cargadas y agotandolas totalmente antes de poner en carga), el ahorro en dinero de pilas convencionales en menos de un mes ya avala y amortiza de por si su compra (además del respeto al medio ambiente). Al principio, al ser tanto las batería como mi mando muy nuevos costó un poco que encajaran (paciencia y un poco de cuidado, no fuerces!), ahora como anillo al dedo. Recomiendo 100% su compra por que mi experiencia es súper positiva, si eres un gamer súper pro igual no te alucina como a mi, para gustos colores!
