Unbelievable phone quality for a watch at this price
My 7 year old daughter chose this watch to replace one she had lost. She wanted one with a touch screen and simple games. She also wanted to play some music. It arrived next day in good packaging. It comes with a charging cable (don't loose this as standard USB cables will not fit into the watch). The watch is quite bulky (as expected for a low cost unit), but the display is surprisingly good, and the touch screen works really well, even with my big fingers. The menu's are child friendly, and there are a number of simple games to keep kids amused. It also has stopwatch and timer functions as well as MP3 player. You can plug watch into PC and download music to it's internal memory (quite slowly). Sound quality is great for something this size and cost. The watch also has LED torch, as well as camera for stills and video. These are pretty bad quality on todays standards, but adequate for kids. These pictures can be copied down to a PC for printing by just plugging the charging cable into a spare USB port. The watch appears as a couple of USB drives. Outer build quality is good with a really nice strap and rugedized case. Inside, the battery is not fixed well and that may be a concern if the watch get's some abuse. It's quite fiddly to fit the SIM card inside. You need to remove the watch back (look for the corner that has a flat on it), and then carefully remove the battery. Underneath you can see the metal holder for SIM card as well as the memory card slot (with what looks like a micro SD card already fitted). The SIM holder has a sliding gate with arrows for open and close. Move the gate to the open position, and then swing upwards with a small pin or pen tip. Insert your SIM with the cut off corner aligned with the corresponding part on the holder. Now close the gate, and slide it about 1mm to the closed position. It should snap shut. You are ready to make and take calls. These were surprisingly good quality with speech easily heard even in areas with low signal strength. Notes: 1) Keep an eye on the battery. I'm concerned it's not fixed in very well, and also the warnings about not over charging are a little concerning. 2) The school mode only stops games. Calculator still works. Also, school mode can easily be turned off in the menu so not much good! 3) Don't think it's much good for a 7 year old to have a phone of their own, but great for the novelty value. 4) It might be worth experimenting with replacing the SD card with a larger faster one. You will need to copy the system files of course. 5) This watch has made me want one of my own so I can leave the phone at home on nights out. 6) The battery seems to have plenty of power in standby, but I don't know how long it would last on permanent calls/gaming. 7) The watch boots up very quickly ( couple of seconds) so it is possible to leave it turned off until you want to check the time/ make a call to conserve battery power 8) I would highly recommend this as a novelty watch (a bit too big for a small child to wear all day) that actually does a whole lot better than I was expecting. My daughter has played with it for 5 days so far...

The charging is annoying
My daughter likes her watch but you cant use a standard charging cable it needs to have a longer thingy bit and that makes life harder si we end up never using it

Bit of a faff to set up but working well so far.
Cute watch, very girly (lots of unicorns) but this was a present for my daughter so she’s happy with that, however the instructions are very poor. Been struggling for hours to get this set up. Also no instructions on how to get music on the phone. Very frustrating! Should not be this hard to set up! If considering this as a present I strongly advise opening it & setting it up a week in advance. But as far as we have got with it so far it is good for kids. My daughter is 9 & is now able to call family, the call quality is good. Didn’t want her to have a smart phone yet but as she’s getting more independent I did want her to have a way to contact me from sleepovers & her various clubs & activities. This is a good compromise.

New review pay as you go O2 sim works
I initially wrote a review saying orange and o2 sims don’t work . The o2 sim initially didn’t work I left it in the watch for about 3 weeks and randomly tried it and it works fine now - my daughter is able to make calls and also receive calls and I am Also able to hear her ok . Think just need to allow the watch a bit of time . Therefore I have changed the stars from 3 to 5 now as I am really happy with this watch now and my daughter is loving it .
