Used this tool to remove a stuck gland nut on a Case 580C loader tilt cylinder. I would have given it 5 stars except the pin diameter was a bit small for the holes in the gland, so I made my own pins from 12x1.75x25mm socket head cap screws. With a nice tight fit in the gland holes I was able to give the wrench a good hard smack (several of them) to loosen the stuck gland. With its attached handle it is easier to use than the standard gland spanner that requires a separate breaker bar or ratchet. I had a 7' cheater on this wrench and it did not break or bend, nor did it mind being hit with a big steel hammer. I would recommend it, just be aware that you may need to make your own pins depending on what you are working on. UPDATE: I finally bent this tool hitting it with a sledge hammer trying to remove the cylinder glands on the stabilizer cylinders on a 580C. Also bent one of the pins. I clamped it in the vise and straightened it out, works good again. The weak area is were the pivoting arm has been machined down at the attachment point. Overall, I still prefer it to the other spanners that require a 3/4" breaker bar. The handle on this spanner is handy once the gland is loose enough to turn by hand, much less awkward to use than the breaker bar style. The handle on this wrench also makes it easy to use with the pair of V-blocks I machined to hold the wrench in place while smacking it with a hammer or using a long cheater bar.

I used this to take the gland off an older case 450 loader that I bent the pins on the rino gland tool. This tool is way better and stronger. I ended up sticking a 3’ pipe on the end and hitting with a 5 lb sledgehammer. I can’t believe it but it didn’t damage the tool at all. I am impressed.

I ended up sending mine back. The finish was neither chrome or polished as the item description and product specifications say. Every photo provided by them is a polished chrome. Even customer photos have chrome. Mine came feeling like 36 grit sandpaper. It must have been shot blasted with large steel shot and then galvanized rather than chromed. I don't know why I got a bummer, but I'm sending it back and not even trying it. The tool probably works fine as it feels solid and uses 12.9 grade metric hardware for the pins. I just can get over the poor finish and false advertising. This must happen often as there are return instructions right on the box. This tool also has a fear of rain lol.

just got this to try and right off I can say that the bolt and joint that join the two halves is sub grade.. the halves do not cinch up tight leaving play which results ina twisting motion under torque. The small shouldered bolt for joining these pieces has a small 6mm nut that comes tight on the shoulder before applying a clamping force to remove any twist/wiggle at the joint. I rectified this issue by running a 3/8 drill bit through the holes, squeezing the two ears together in the vise to make a snigger fitting joint then put a grade 8 fine threaded bolt through with a stover nut to stop it from coming loose. Now the tool works as it should..Whoever makes this tool should take note and make the necessary upgrades.
