Could this tool damage the edge of the floor tiles? I just need to change the colour of my floor tile grout.

I have used this tool to remove the grout on my floor tiles and there hasn’t been any damage to the tiles was very easy to use I would recommend it

what's the difference between using this and using a drill (or perhaps a drill with the grout removing bits)?

This wrks like a jack hammer moving forward and back, it does not rotate like a drill does. I would suspect that your drill hammer action maybe to great and damage the tiles.

Can you get spare tips for this tool?

Yes - use search engine and search for 'vitrex vitgo200vt grout removal tool spare tips' which should reveal many options including AMAZON offers.

Bit nervous about using the hexagonal key, is it inserted at 90 degrees into the small opening, or into the top? Is much pressure called for?

Used it once at about90% worked well for a while.not much pressure, but soon became blunt.left with vibration in hand for a few hours after
