Does it work with Apple TV ?

This device is used for over the air television broadcasts.  Apple TV is for streaming off the Internet.  So no, it won't work with Apple TV.  Also it doesn't work in the United States.  It will work in a variety of counties that are listed in the instruction pamphlet.  The reason is the broadcast coding varies from country to country.

Do you need WiFi for this?

Damian, just to clarify some of the previous answers, you only need Wi-Fi once at the start, to download the app on to your phone / tablet. After that you use the aerial on the box to receive a TV signal, that’s then Bluetooth’d to your device (not Wi-Fi). I've used this on campsites all over the country with brilliant results, hundreds of free channels with little interferance or drop out, hope you enjoy it .

Will this work with my ipad when im camping

The DVB-T405 would work if you were to take it camping. As long as it is charged and in range of your phone. Signal is dependant on geographical factors so we cannot guarantee it. However there is high success when using this device.

is this compatible with dvb t2 also?

I can confirm it very much isn't and August have changed the description after my correspondence with them. I read the manual (which implied it doesn't receive HD) but August told me it did. Today they "confirmed" it doesn't and have offered a full refund.

A massive shame because HD reception with devices like this was the normality a few years ago. I have a similar Android device (years old) that receives HD.  I also have an old August USB stick connected to a mini PC (and Plex Server) which transmits Freeview around the house.

If they made an HD version of this, I'd buy three !!

Unfortunately,  whilst products like this are "niche" anyway, this one should be clearly labelled as "legacy".  In terms of tiny DVB-T2 receivers, this is an AM only Radio for the enthusiast only !

In it's defence it does have it's uses and I'll probably keep it. It works (most importantly) and if you are in a good signal area and using it on a small device like a mobile phone it's quite useful.

But not for this price. Something you would pick up for a few quid on ebay.
