NOCOEX? 10X42 Pocket-size Monocular High Powered Bright and Clear Range of View-Single Hand Focus (Black)

Like it a lot, very clear and easy to operate

This is a Chinese monocular with very poor optics would not recommend anyone purchasing. The only good thing about it is it does work although very poorly.

I'm a flag marshal for a number of British car racing clubs. This is the perfect companion for finding hard to spot car numbers when the drivers have managed to stop somewhere silly! I did use a pair of binoculars but having to continually set the barrel angle for different people is a pain, so a monocular is perfect. Optics are good and sharp, the collar to switch from glasses to no glasses is quick and easy, and the focus is good. At the price I paid this was a no-brainer.

The advantage of the monocular is that (obviously) it is half the size and weight of a pair of binoculars. Although no expert in the field of optics, I have never heard of Nocoex, and the fact the box is unbranded and the name is on a badge stuck to the body leads me to suspect that this monocular will probably be found under various brands, perhaps even a well known name! The monocular comes in a velvet style pouch, which will protect from dirt and dust, but needs do no more as the item itself is clad in a plastic/rubber type armour. The body is grooved and sculpted in all the right places so that it fits nicely in the hand and the surface finish is pleasant to the touch. The quality of the moulding is excellent with no rough edges or seams. A wrist strap is provided and if you feed it through the eyepiece cap, it will ensure you don’t lose it. The objective lens cover has a captive loop already fitted. To my inexpert eye, the image quality is excellent – bright, sharp and with no evidence of chromatic aberration (colour fringing). Focusing is easy and quick via the well damped knob. I’m a spectacle wearer and I had no problem seeing the whole field of view with my glasses on. I’m sure that if I had a more expensive model to compare with I would be able to spot some shortcomings, but this model ticks the boxes for me.
