Would you be able to use this for coating coasters?

Yes definitely. I have done this and they are absolutely fine. Do not put the coasters in a dishwasher though. Just a damp wipe over does the trick.

Hi, iv decoupaged some tea, coffee, sugar canisters. Would this make them water proof if i hand wash them?

Yes heat and water proof . Give at least 3 coats then let cure for 24 hours and your good to go I use this all the time never had any problems totally recommended 👍

Can I use it to polish shells?

To make sea shells shine you can rub some baby oil on them and let dry overnight Polyvine (glossy version) will also polish them but will add a protective film on the shells.
