Top Quality Phono Preamp with Real Engineering Pedigree
The sonic performance of this preamp is beyond reproach. The specs objectively are top notch and listening confirms it - this preamp will give you everything your record/ cartridge/ arm/ table is capable of. And all the while with grace, in that it's as quiet as can be. It more than held it own with another preamp I had on demo costing four (!) times the price of this - in fact, I'd say it bettered it (I won't name the manufacture out of respect for the fact that they're a small enterprise). Build quality is excellent, feeling solid and well thought out - even to the small touches such as the ground screw which is suitably ergonomic and not a fiddly affair like on some. Personally I like the addition of an on/off switch, which seems something of a luxury with phono preamps. No, I don't leave my equipment on all the time! If you're undecided and shopping the saturated phono market, I'd encourage you to consider specs. This preamp does it as well as can be, and for a trifling expense. Sure, you may need more flexibility, eg loading options etc - but if not, this is a one stop shop. FWIW my set-up is a Rega RP6 w/ Ortofon Bronze into this, into Yamaha A-S701, into Harbeth Speakers.

Quality product
The first unit was spoilt by address labels on the product packaging, I ordered another unit which was sent in a bag to protect the product packaging. The unit is of high quality and easy to install, but probably needs a burn in period to reach its full potential, that said it sounds very detailed and accurate with little noise from the unit. There is a audioble low frequency rumble noticeable at very high volume levels but not enough to cause any problems. I have a Rega MC phono stage which is very good but has considerable noise levels which can be heard at high volume levels. So all round the Musical Fidelity stage is a much better product with exceptional build quality! I highly recommend the product.

Expected some improvement, but WOW!
Recently purchased this preamp after a tonne of research and YouTube research. I’m using this with a mid price Audio Technica turntable into a Yamaha RXV6A amp with Dali opticon and Dali sub. I was originally fairly happy with the sound of the turntable straight into the Yamahas phono input but wondered if it could be bettered. After researching I settled on this amp and ordered from Amazon thinking it was an easy return if I didn’t like it. I wasn’t expecting much to be honest and cabled up eyeing up the packaging on my table ready to send back. Wow, I’m astounded that it would make such a difference. Sound quality is superb. Stereo image has widened noticeably without losing focus. Space within the mix has opened up and the previous smearing seems to have cleared substantially. I would highly recommend this preamp. For the money it punches well above its weight.

V90 LPS
Just buy one. For the price the V90 LPS is superb. You will have to spend a lot more to better it. Just a plain looking black box that somehow just brings the music to life.

Excellent Phono amp
Stunningly good value. I bought as a stand in while my much more expensive Pathos phono amp was being repaired. There’s was so little difference in sound quality it was embarrassing. Highly recommended!

Wonderful phono stage but the V-LPS ii + V-PSU ii is a giant killer for not much more
Once again an excellent phono stage for the money. I am a huge fan of this companies products having compared this unit directly with many more expensive models from other manufacturers. It works very well on both MM and MC inputs and offers a clean and clear sound. It is extremely neat and compact and discreet once set up. Nice access to switching from MM to MC and On/Off. I have done some quite extensive tests and feel this is a worthy 4 star product. However I did discover better results using the V-LPS ii coupled with the V-PSU ii, which gave a more solid sound with extended bass definition. Combining the V-LPS with the V-PSU also gave an extra level of quietness when operating, indeed this combination rivals phono stages over £500. I even preferred the sound to a Whest Two which was £700. However the V-LPS is less practical unless perhaps mounted behind other components as it lacks a neat looking front facia. But I can not recommend the V-LPS ii enough, yes the M1 Vinl is slightly better but not by much in my opinion.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS CHEAP!!!
I purchased this on the basis of previous reviews and the fact Musical Fidelity is a solid company producing high end components. I am amazed at how good this is for the money, incredible soundstage and imaging, crystal clear vocals and rock solid bass! I have A+B this with a Project Phono Box DS2, significantly more money, I know it's subjective but in my opinion the V90-LPS is several rungs up the ladder over the DS2! I would strongly suggest auditioning this, we'll done Musical Fidelity, absolute cracker, and too cheap!
