Straight out the box and used in my mspa. Easiest assembly ever took about a munute. I had lots of grit/seeds from trees in the spa. Really simple to use, it is not hard work just slow gentle strokes. I cleaned the spa in about 5 minutes. Not a bit of grit left at all. Easy to clean the filter. This would not be suitable for a pool, maybe a small temporary summer pool. When using this you do need to be aware that you'll need to do a fair bit of pulling and pushing on the plunger to get it to suck up the much from the bottom of the pool.Does it work?Yes it works. Reasonably good. Being impatient, and also rubbish at cleaning pools, I bought this when the pool was desperately ready for cleaning - I'd previously been using a strainer from the cutlery drawer and I dont think seeing dead flies in it helped matters much, so I bought this as it seemed the best gadget for my needs.If the pool is cleaned regular, like daily then this works pretty good, and it is pretty well made. I have it tucked away for next year so that says something.The filter that is built in to the end of the unit dirties up quickly (may be because I had a lot to clean), and I found it quite tough to remove the filter from the head of the tube.
