Review: Great skimmer - It does the job really quickly Review: Loved by Angel Fish - I had some of these then brought another four when desertcart dropped them down to Β£16.00 due to overstocking I think. They keep the surface of the water crystal clear. My angel fish ignored the spawning cone laid their eggs on these. Parents moved the babies to a plant once they hatched but these skimmers provided a nice smooth, warm surface according to my angel fish. I have a total of nine of these skimmers - one for each tank. They make all the difference to the surface water quality - especially if you regularly feed live food to your fish - mine get live food every day. If you have floating plants they will love with this skimmer. Before my floating just died off/went brown. Turn the skimmer off for dry food or it will suck the food up in smaller tanks. Some people said it is noisy. Just make sure the the product is lined up so it fits into the slots properly. If it makes noise just bob it down and it becomes quiet. Also check there are no floating plants in the top as that can cause a noise. All mine are silent. If they make a gurgling noise I just bob the top cone down in the water, it bobs back up and any noise stops. Rarely happens though. Great product which my angels trust enough to lay their eggs on. I don't like the sponge filter it comes with so use a little ball of filter floss which is absolutely filthy when I change it twice a week. That keeps the water crystal clear. The skimmers purchased from desertcart came with an EU plug but I did not mind buying an adapter as the skimmers are so good and I got four at knock down price then paid full price for a further two so I have one skimmer for each of my many tanks. They work in all my tanks with an adjustable flow which can generate loads of bubbles=oxygen. Maybe not suitable for slow flow fish such as bettas and pea puffers.
